Crazy!

Hey family and friends. Sorry for such a late email. We went the library today and for some reason the computers at the library would not let us get us on any of the church websites. So I'm now at the Hatchers house emailing you on there iPad. Haha don't worry I asked Pres. Gerber if we could and he said yes. :)
Now onto the week! This last week has been a very good week for us in the Blue water area! On Monday we were able to go to the Bills and have a great dinner and also shared an uplifting message. We talked about the sons of Mosiah and of course Alma the younger. Just talked about how we can all just stand up for our faith and other things in life. Without backing down.
On Tuesday we did not have much to do but we were able to make a great day out of it. First we went over to the local hospital and asked if we could putt ourself down on a list so we can give blessing and service. The we went to a less active house, Brother Rae who we have not been to for a long time. Brother Rae is about in his 80 amazing man but his health and other things are stopping him from coming back to church. Later in the afternoon we were able to see a family that just moved into the ward and hoping to start coming back to church. Around 6 we went with the Zimmers to a nice restaurant that looks over to Canada.
Wednesday we had District meeting and it was great. The focus of district meeting was on teaching with unity and also adjusting your teaching needs to the person. Chapter 10 of PMG. This week focus will be on more finding and the Lapeer Sisters will be giving the instruction/discussion. Other then that we went and help people in the ward move and stopped by a couple of family's.
Thursday Elder Leonard had his one year temple trip! So that meant that Elder Wallace and I had to go down to North Shores with another Elder and help him in his area. Haha one funny thing is later that night Elder Leonard did not have dinner so we went to Panda Express in Troy. Guess who I saw......it was Jazlyn (Curney) a family I baptized in Troy about two years ago. It was pretty awesome. Sounds like the family is doing great!
Friday and Saturday we basically just stopped by less actives and knocked doors which is great! Found one new investigator which is always great. We are planning to see Sean this Thursday but sadly I will be on an exchange with Elder Peterson in his area of Lapeer.

It's crazy to think that this week is my last full week of being a missionary. It's sad butt it will be a great last week of working hard and having fun all at the same time! :) I will be shipping my bike home tomorrow, I have the box and all just need to dropped off at UPS and swipe the card sadly.

We'll love you family and can't believe it's already that time. :) I know that the church is true and really that I have and will be learning a lot this last week.

Awesome Week!!

This week has been a pretty good week up in the Blue Water area. So yesterday I was able to go up to the Crosswell meeting with Brother Beem ( member of the bishopric). The Crosswell meeting went great. We had seven less actives attend church up there. It made my whole week because I've always have been big on Less Active work and it was great to see a little of it pay off  yesterday. There was about 35 people to attended up there. I had Elder Leonard and Elder Wallace stay down here in the Blue Water Ward so they could take care of our investigators that came and any Less Actives. I was able to bless the Sacrament and it was amazing because I have not been able to do that every since I was in the MTC.
We've been working with the Hinkel family, they are doing great! Only two of the kids showed up to church yesterday. We are planning on seeing them tonight after we go over to the Bills (every other week, Less Active family) for dinner. We've been working with this other young man name Adam. Adam was meeting with the missionary's about a year ago but had to stop because family request but now that he is 18 he started back up. On Tuesday we were able to go and teach him about The Restoration. It was more like a review! We are planning to see Adam this next week and will be reviewing The Plan Of Salvation. Adam is on date for July 19th also.
So if everything works out we should have a couple of baptism this next month!! :)
This week I was able to go on an exchange with Elder Searle. Elder Searle is an awesome Elder that been out for over a year. Elder Searle is from Boise, Idaho. Planning on going on a exchange my last week with Elder Peterson in Lapeer. District Meeting went great! The focus was on Finding using the survey that the mission came out with. On the the ex change Elder Searle and I used it and we were able to get a couple of return appointments and also teach The Restoration. This week the focus for District meeting will be on Teaching in Unity and Adjust teaching to meet needs. Chapter 10.
Other then that we've been just contacting people and working with Less Actives in the area. Received information about Returning home. So I will next week let you know about the bike and all that stuff.

Have an amazing week!! :) Elder Jenson

Amazing Week!!

Another amazing week in the mission! :) Where to start. On Monday we went out with Brother Griffin and saw a recent convert/less active. Adam .S is an amazing middle age man that loves the Gospel. Adam has not been to church for a couple of weeks because of work and school. But when we do see him at church or even are able to meet with him he has a very strong testimony.
This week we've done lot's of contacting down on the board walks. Not to many people have be interested but still really nice people out here. One funny thing is the last couple of weeks that we've been down on the board walks contacting people we have run into members from out west. One was a mother and a son that were on a trip out to  Michigan just for fun and family stuff. They told us that it good to see that missionary's are doing work. Then this week we heard a couple of girls from a car say "Elders" so I look and did not recognize them. So we went over and the 20 year old girls told us that they are going to UVU in Utah. We said "cool" then just talked about where they are from and where we were form. Good girls but from what we got that they won't very active any more but who knows. It's just been a testimony to me that everyone is watching you and also there are always members watching the missioners everywhere you might be. :)
We've been teaching the Hinkel  family over the last week or so. They are still on date for July 19th :) Two of the kids Joel and Joyce came to church yesterday and they said they loved it and want to comeback next week. Well that's what we heard from some of the members. So they are doing great, hopefully we can still keep the ball rolling. Other then that not to many investigators, still working with a couple less actives. Speaking about less active we were able to see a less active family that Elder Humphreys and I saw only a couple of time during our time as companions. The family asked us if we could come do some service for them so we did and then we got  kicked out because one of the Elders said something they did not like at all. It was right for the family to ask us  leave. The reason I bring this up is because even if you might think the joke might not hurt you it might hurt someone else. So we have to be smart in our talk with anyone we come into contact with.
This last week we did not have District Meeting because of Zone Conference. It was crazy to sit there on Wednesday at Zone Conference and say that it was my last one. The Zone Conference went amazing. It was on revelation through Church, Prayer, Read and how we can get our recent converts to stay active after baptism! This week District Meeting will be focused on Finding! :)  Specifically how we can better use the surveys in our finding! In the mission they come out with a survey that will better help us know were the people are with religion and all. See if they are Joseph ( how President Holmes would put it! :)) I love the concept to find out if they would be more willing to listen and if they are the one.
Other then that not much has been up. Will be going on ex-change this Wednesday :) Love the mission and really will miss it but for now just need to keep working.

 Love Elder Jenson

June 2, 2014 (one month from today!)

Great Week!!

Hey Family and Friends, So this week was another great week over in the Blue Water Mission (Out in the edge of no where, makes up most of the Michigan Detroit Mission). Joke that we have out here with other Elders that have served here because really no one does no what goes on over here ;)

Anyways this week we were able to fin 6 new investigators through media referral and putt 5 of the family members on date for July 19th!! :) The Hinkle was a referral from there great Grandpa that's from Idaho, from the sounds of it he is a Patriarch in the church. The farther is working on his way back into the church. The mother of the family we saw was raised in the church but never did get baptized. From what the family told us, is that the two daughters were calling up there great grandpa asking them questions about our church and what we believed. So he asked here  gran daughter if he can send a couple of people to the house to answer there questions about the church. We've been over there twice so far :) Taught the Restoration and yesterday talked about The Book Of Mormon and where it came from and all. It went great planning to see them this next week on Friday.
Doina dropped us over this past week. Sent her a text asking her like always when we can set up and share a lesson and answer any questions she has about her reading through The Book Of Mormon. She said " Hi, thank you for all the time you spent helping me, but I've decided I won't be continuing with our meeting" Then the other Elder said to ask "why she is not meeting with us anymore" so I did, nothing back. So the next day I text'ed her and just said "Hey Doin, if there is anything we can do for your or your husband you can always give us a call. It's been great to be able to meet with you and get to know you also help you.  We encourage you to keep reading and praying. If anytime you want to come to church you always welcome" She text'ed back a couple minutes later and said that will do with the reading and praying.  Hopefully we left her in good feelings with the church so if she does want to know she will ask to set up another appointment. I'm pretty positive that she will accept the Gospel in this time or in the next! :) She has what she needs to begin.
My first District meeting went great! We had the Zone Leaders at it, Elder Uptain (goes home with me) and Elder Bytheway (not related to John Bytheway) but anyways had the focus on Retaining New Members! Went great from what the Zone Leaders told me after District meeting. Then I gave the discussion/ instruction on Retaining New Members and then made up a practice that went into........practicing the Gospel Of Jesus  Christ Pamphlet on really focusing on Enduring to the End .
Don't have to come up with any assignments this week because of Zone Conference on Wednesday.

Love the Mission it's so crazy it's almost at the end. I would not give anything back for it!! Just still keeping focused and enjoying every last few weeks I have out here. The Church Is True and everything in The Book Of Mormon is for our day!

I found a cool little insight this week while I was flipping through my Book Of Mormon trying to decide what we should share with a family in the ward. So I have shared to you about Nephi killing Laban, Right?! Anyways this his what I believe how he prepared him self for that moment in life. As we see in the very first chapter in the first verse of 1 Nephi he says " I Nephi, having been born of goodly parents, therefore I was taught somewhat in all the learning of my farther.........." Nephi recognized that he had some amazing parents. So
the Lord trusted him. Then in 1 Nephi 2: 3 it talks about being obedient as Nephi saw in his farther. Then when the Lord saw that he was learning from being obedient and saw that he loved his parents he told Lehi to ask his sons to go back to Jerusalem. We see in 1 Nephi 3:7 Nephi's willingness to "will go and do". The Lord was preparing Nephi to kill Laban even if Nephi did not know that. By listening to the still small voice and his common sense.

Well Love Your Family and Friends!! :) Have a great week!

New Transfer!

Hey sounds like everyone is doing great at home. Jack Rabbits getting shoot at and baseball games. :) Sounds like the life!

Well for out here in the Michigan Detroit Mission we just had transfers last Tuesday. Now do have two new companions Elder Leonard and Elder Wallace. Elder Leonard is from Spokane, Washington, He's been out a year. Very hard worker and loves to teach and takes most of the lesson. Now with Elder Wallace, Elder Wallace has been out for 18 months, he's from Fruit Heights, Utah. Very to him self kid. Does not say much but is a very nice kid. I've been around him through out the mission. It should be a great last transfer.

We had the opportunity last Tuesday same day as transfers go over to Lancing and hear Jefferey R. Holland speak to us, which was amazing. Jefferey R. Holland focused on when Elder and Sister return home WE NEED TO STAY ACTIVE! He told us that if we don't have any baptisms the most important one you need  to convert is your self. He went on and talked about how there is to many missionaries coming home and then going less active. Then he talked about converting people to the gospel. Also Our Purpose as missionaries. He also talked about the set up with the church and how he gets interviewed almost everyday by news people. Asking him about all the questions about the church. Then when he tells them about missionary work and how we have missionaries all over from "Kanab,Ut, small town to South Africa" ( Jefferey R. Holland said that on May 20, 2014) It was funny because almost all the Michigan Detroit Mission knows me because of my voice and such a good missionary that is him self. So the missionaries that were close to me said Elder Jenson. Jefferey R. Holland went on about how they are 18-21 year old man and woman not getting paid spending 2 years out in a different state or wherever and they preach the Gospel. Jefferey R. Holland says it always gets them and so amazed by that. All 390 missionaries from Detroit Michigan Mission and the Lancing Michigan Mission were about to shake his hand. We just said hi then he said nothing and looked into our eyes and interviewed us.

Well tomorrow is the first District Meeting. The Focus is going to be on Retaining Members. That's what I feel like what the District needs because we've been having a good couple baptisms in our District the last couple months. Chapter 13 of PMG.

Well Love you Family and keep up the Great work!! :) It's crazy how fast time does go by and it been worth it to be out here on a mission. I've been able to learn a lot more about Jesus Christ, The Book Of Mormon and the Bible. Also of course my self and how I can be a better, brother, Son and etc.

May 19, 2014

Great week!! :)

To start off we've been able to meet and work with a couple of investigators that we do have. Doina who we have been working with about a month now.  We had a lesson with Doina on Thursday and gave her a Book Of Mormon in Ramona. She is starting to read it. I know that if she does read it with real intent that many of her questions will be answered. She is willing to come to church and have us teach her but she won't get baptized because she's been baptized and knows that she has the Holy Ghost. This week I will and my two new companions will be going over what she has read in the Book Of Mormon and the authority we need from God to baptize.
Your probably saw that I'm getting two new companions! :) We had transfer calls on Friday and we found out that Elder Humphreys will be leaving :(... Sunday morning we got a call from President Gerber, Elder Humphreys got called to be a District Leader wherever he goes and I will also be a District leader for my last transfer. The District( Lapeer Sister, Lapeer Elders and Us) is pretty much the same other then we will be having three Elders in Lapeer because Elder Ewell (who came out with me)  will be going home a couple weeks early. There will be only two Sisters in Lapeer now. I will be getting two new companions. I don't know why, probably because President won't have to worry of moving lot's of Elders and Sister next transfer. Just can keep the two Elders her in Blue Water or watching over me the last transfer, Just kidding. :)  Oh yeah this week I will be interviewing a investigator the Lapeer Sister have been teaching!
Tomorrow will be transfers over in Lancing then we will be able to listen to Elder Jefferey R. Holland teach us for a couple of hours so that really cool. It's crazy to look back and be able to now say that I've been able to meet 3 Apostles of the Lord ( Dallin H. Oaks, D. Todd Christofferson, and tomorrow Jefferey R. Holland).

Yesterday we had amazing sacrament meeting! All the Seminar Students in the ward  had there Seminar program. It was very powerful and made me think how grateful I am to be able say I graduated seminar and learned many cool insights about the scriptures. Yesterday was a great day really did make me think how I want to end my mission strong and what I can do to help the Michigan Detroit Mission.
Love the Gospel and all it has done for me!! I'm so great full and also will be great full the rest off my life for what dad's decision to serve a mission did for me! :) I know the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints is the same church the Jesus Christ did set up when he was here.

Gotta Love Mothers Day!!!

Another good week over in the 70 degree weather of Michigan Detroit Mission! So to start off the week like always we have a fun P-day, because that is the most important day of the week, just kidding. Anyways we played softball over at the Hatcher family and today we went fishing up in Croswell. In the river! Elder Humphreys caught a Pike then it started to rain which is never fun.
We taught Doina this week on Tuesday with the Sultemeier . Another great lesson with her, went over The Gospel of Jesus Christ and she had many great questions. We asked her if she wanted to get baptized but she said give me more time and also she wants to came to church and find out more. After the lesson she asked use if we could just talk about why Elder Humphreys and I our members of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. This week we will be having a lesson on more of why we as our self I guess joined this church. I'm really excited to able to more express why I'm a member of this church. Also why I came out on a mission.
We've been also teaching a middle age man name Dan over the last couple of weeks, Off and ON. We were able to go over to a members house and teach Dan there. We taught Dan about the Plan Of Salvation and he had many great deep questions that took a good couple of minutes to go over. This week we our hoping of putting him on date to be baptized! :)
Other then that just been teaching people and finding also. We had specialized training this week and it was pretty good. President Gerber talk about The Family Proclamation and also cool new finding ways with tracing and all.
Lost an amazing man this week that just got baptized a couple of weeks ago because of family things I guess.  Had our first meeting up in Croswell for the people up north. About 40 + kids showed up to it which was okay, many people were out of town. Planning to have a lot more the 3rd Sunday in June.

It was amazing to be able to talk to the family yesterday and also Brandon over in Mexico! :) I'm so glade that I have an amazing family that keeps me focus even though I might have only a month in a half left. It's funny to talk to Elders and Sister that still have a good minute left in there mission and the parents already are making plans.  Oh.........Ya thanks for the package like 3 months ago, just got it last week. haha

May 5, 2014

Great week!

So this week we had interviews. Went pretty well, was able to pass my interview! Haha kinda worried Just kidding. Anyway it's been a pretty amazing week. Elder Humphreys and I have been able to find three new investigators over this week. But two of them dropped us last night, so that kinda stinks. We've taught Diona (Ramona) The Restoration and the Plan Of Salvation! Planning to see Diona tomorrow with couple of members and go over The Gospel Of Jesus Christ.
Over the week we've stopped bye a lot of Less Active down south because we don't know any of them. While we stopping by a couple of Less Active. There's an Island, Algonic Island  in our area, I guess it's a state park but anyways we were driving on the island in the middle of no where and we came to a dead end were its a round about and it looks over the lakes. You can also see Detroit in the distance. We saw two men digging something and a nice Ford Mustang. I said to Elder Humphreys "Hey look, that looks like someone I know from my first area Troy (about 2 years ago)". Elder Humphreys said he would drive by slow so I could get a good look. So we did and guess who it was! It was David Tonkin one of the fist recent converts I meet over in Troy, Mi. It was crazy because we where a hour south down from our apartment and it's about an hour in a half from Troy,Mi.  I know that we went on that Island for a reason even if we were just checking it out for the fist time. David is an amazing man that just recently went to the temple for the fist time over the fall I believe. We were able to just talk and catch up for a couple of minutes. We also were able to say a prayer with his friend, that is not a member yet. I think that it was a testimony to me, David and his friend that there's missionary's also members all over the place that will give you a pick you up even if it out of the blue.
Well on Monday we were playing baseball at a members back yard (The Hatchers, amazing family) and Elder Humphreys hit the ball and it was a good hard hit and hit my elbow! It got really big big! Called the missionary Doctor and he said to go get it checked out or Ex-ray. I let it heel for a couple of days then called back. He just told me to watch it and take Ibuprofen everyday! Still on Ibuprofen so it can go down and not get infected.
Have a amazing week and will call around 4pm, your time, if that's good with you! Mean Skype! :)

Love you family! Can't wait to talk to you!!!

April 28, 2014

Great week!!

Hey family and friends! This week has been going very while for Elder Humphreys and I, we've been able to find a couple new investigators. We are planning to meet with one on Wednesday. We meet her down on the boardwalk. She is from somewhere in Europe. She seems really cool and willing to listen, which is always nice. She's meet with missionary's in the past.
So this week we've just been working with many Less Actives up north in Croswell and in that area because we will be having the first sacrament meeting up there on the llth of May! So far we know about 10 people that will be coming for sure! Over this week we will be going down the list of people that will be in the area of Croswell that should be attending. I guess when they cut off the Lexington Branch many members stopped coming because of the drive. Hopefully this will get the people starting to come once a month and will be willing to drive a 1hr or so to come down to church in St. Clair.
The work has been a little slow since we've had the baptism but hopefully will be going back up in the next couple of day!
Well tomorrow we will be having interviews!  Will be also getting a new temple recommend..............well if I pass ;)
Studies have been going great, Have learned a lot about the purpose of life. Been reading The Trilogy by W. Cleon Skousen  (have couple questions about outer darkness)  and just read today about Of Souls, Symbols, and Sacrament by Jeffery R. Holland.
Still been reading Preach My Gospel each day and The Book Of Mormon! :) Finished The Book Of Mormon couple weeks ago.

Oh yeah met a missionary yesterday @ church that just got back from the Lancing Mission. He's from Utah but anyways he knew my grandparents that served there!  Small world!

Well love you Family and Friends!

April 21, 2014

Another great week in the bag! :)

Elder Humphreys and I were blessed to be able to have a baptism on Saturday! T J Rinke was baptized. On Sunday T J received the Holy Ghost and also the priesthood. T J will be also passing the sacrament next week with giving a talk on mothers day. Elder Humphreys and I probably wont be able to make it to see T J talk because it will be the first Sunday starting up church up in Croswell, MI. That we will have once a month the second Sunday of each month so the members don't have to drive an hour in a half to church.

The week went pretty good, we were able to do many service projects which is great with also teaching many lessons. A Less Active family that we've been working with since I've been in the Crosswell/Blue Water area came to church yesterday and told us that they hope it's a start getting them out to church every week.

So last night I had a pretty cool dream! In my dream it was Brandon, Dad and I out knocking on some doors in this really nice area. So I knocked on the door and gave my spill about the church. The man said "oh I know about your church" then I said "oh do you......tell me something about it" then he said "a smart remark about space ups and other" Then we walked away and the man said something and dad rebuked him with scriptures and also of course love. Haha it was pretty cool, just thought I should share it. I think it's saying we could be home teach partners again!! Jk, that would be cool

I've been forgetting each week some cool funny story's that happen to Elder Humphreys and I during the transfers. I will share them. 1st: About a week ago we were going back to our apartment for the night and we came around a corner and we see a man down on his back in the middle of street. Later we found out that he was passed out drunk. Guess he got so far then passed out. 2nd We have a LA we've been working with and we went over one night then about 2 hours later his house got ratted by FBI and state copes. Found drugs and other crap. The people who he let come and stay with him were dealing. If we were there an later then we went we could of been in jail. 3rd Walk into our apartment every night smelling strong weed! ;) amazing high, jk. 4th On April 1st we were spirit tracking and we found a nice house out in the country that we decided to knock. The man came out with a gun and started to yell out us . So that was interesting.

Other then that it's been amazing out here in the Michigan Detroit Mission. Just trying to keep focused and keep working hard. Still doing great work but every once in a day my mind thinks about how fun it's going to be hanging out with the little ones and both you mom and dad! :) Then the regular starting a Life

Great Week!! :)

Thanks for the email this week!!:) Had another great week and did not have really any discouragements. It's great to hear that the family is doing great. Thanks mom and dad for the emails, did help out a lot! Just have to keep positive and focus on the last couple months of the mission.
So to start off  had another great week. This week was Stake Conference for the Grand Blanc stake. I was able to see couple of members from Flint and also our investigator T.J come out to Stake Conference.  Stake Conference was really really inspiring and also had a 70 come out to Michigan for it. Elder Benet in the 6 quorum. Elder Benet gave a great talk about family's. The exciting part of Stake Conference was that the power went out at the Adult session on Saturday night and was out during Stake Conference on Sunday but the spirit was still there. Another funny thing is that the them of Stake Conference is "let your  light shine".
T.J will be getting baptized this Saturday at 4pm!! :) It's going to be an amazing day for T.J. We road back from Stake Conference with T.J and we were able to have a great talk with him about his family. T.J has been going through a lot but he still believes and will be baptized even if he's family and his wife are not big fans of the church. The cool thing is that T.J said even if no one comes I will make sure my kid Liam (6 months old) comes and remembers the day his dad got baptized. T.J is already planning on having Liam go out on a mission. :) The family will come around some day.
Oh I don't know if I've told you but ever Thursday we go over to a soup kitchen and help out. It is pretty exciting and sad to see people with nothing.
This morning we went fishing at a members house but did not catch anything. Oh well planning on going but on a nicer Monday. Um......don't know if I've told you but Elder Jeffery R. Holland is coming to the mission May 20. So that will be really sweet. I've meet 3 apostles since I've been out here. Elder Dallon H. Oaks ( back in 2012) then Elder Todd Christofferson (in 2013) and will be meeting Jeffery R. Holland on May 20, 2014. It's going to be great.
Well don't know what else you would like but have amazing week family!!! :) Thanks for being such a great family. How has Brandon (my brother) been doing out in Mexico?

Another Great week in the Blue Water area

Well this week was transfer calls, Elder Humphreys and I are staying for another 6 weeks!! :) I's pretty awesome! So nothing much has change for the week. T. J, is doing amazing. T. J was able to watch General Conference the last two days and he has said that it's really moving and awesome.
General Conference went amazing. Kinda got rebuked. So I told you last week how I dislike knocking doors because of my voice. Well when Donald L. Hallstorm talked about the young man that served in India that had a hard time walking. It bright me back to when I was complying about my problem. I know that I should not just worry about it because the Lord will help me with my challenge that I have.   I've been having a hard time with just thinking about what going happen when I get back and If I can even get a job because of my voice and other. The only way I've been able to get by with people understanding me a is they either become a good friend or they just understand that I have the difficulty. With the mission I'm able to talk to the people and I get to know them because we our usually teaching them but with a job you always meet new people that need to know what you know whatever business you in.
I know what I'm doing out here but at the same time I don't. I came out here to bring people closer to Christ and just uplift peoples day. But I don't feel like I've made a big change. I've made small changes that I've seen through out the mission but not big life changing experience. Nothing like a come to Jesus moment....................I have only a little bit left and I want a big change. I don't know how. I do everything I know what I should be doing, and follower all the rules. I've read the talk the road to Damascus but that still does not change what I want to end as a missionary.
Well love you family and hope you have a great week!

Another Great Week in the Blue Water area!

This week has been a pretty good week for Elder Humphreys and I.  On Monday Elder Humphreys and I went shed hunting which was pretty fun. Did not find any sheds........So We've been trying to go to the jail here to teach someone but each time we go the person forgets to putt us on the list of visitors. So we've never been able to get in, same thing happen this last week so we decided about we go over to T.J Rinke's house and  teach a quick lesson and inform him about General Conference. The lesson went great! T.J is an amazing guy just looking for the truth. We also stopped by a couple of other people before we went in for the night.
Tuesday- On Tuesday we had an apartment set at 10 am which is nice because I honestly still not a big fan of tracking just because I don't like talking to people because of my voice but anyways. Elder Humphreys and I have been teaching James .S off and on. James is kinda like TJ but really just want to get information about our church and all because he likes to study about other religions. We were able to teach James about the Plane Of Salvation and it did really open his eyes. We also saw him later in the week and went over The Gospel Of Jesus Christ and really focused on Why Christ was Baptized by John, Faith and other. I hope that he does know that we our trying to get him closer to Christ and also what it can do for his life now and on.
Did stop by some other family's in the ward and just shared a spiritual thought. ( the ones I've been sending).
Wednesday- Had District meeting, then went over to Crosswell and taught Grandman Green (eternal Investigator) about General Conference. Then during the lessons she asked us if we every did get an answer for her question to "Was having more then one wife before the 10 commandment breaking the law". So we called up President Gerber and he gave so really cool insight about that to Grandma Green and us.
We've been able to move TJ Rinke's date up to April 19th which is awesome! Elder Humphreys and I during weekly planning (held Friday 10 am-1 pm)  felt like we should move his date up because he is way ready and there's no point of waiting an longer. So we text TJ and asked him how he feels about his baptism. He txted back and said I feel like we should move it up! :) So we did for the next week after General Conference but that did not work because of Stake Conference. So we will be having is April  19th. We've also put an investigator Kim P on date for May 3rd .
This week is transfers, anything can happen. If we stay together which we our hoping will come out to be. 98% sure that this is my last area.

The answer to mom's question is I believe I will be coming home July 2nd.
Insight: So I'm almost done with the Book Of Mormon for the 3rd time on the mission. I was reading in Mormon 3. It kinda remind me of how we need to be able as friends and missionary's either drop our friends or investigators if they are not changing.  In Mormon 3: 9-16 it explains that Mormon stops helping the Nephites because they were not giving the acknowledgment to God and other.
We need to be able to leave friends and investigators that are not willing to change for the best and comeback later and help them out. They first need to see the hardships before they can have the Joy.

Love Elder Jenson :) Well love you Family and Friends! Keep up the great missionary work everyone

Great Week!!

So another great week in the Blue Water area :)  Elder Humphreys and I have been working very hard like always.  Well to start off with the week on Monday was St. Patrick day which was really funny because if you drive down through Port Huron at 8pm and on the do a Pup Craw (where everyone drinks goes to bars all night until they are passed out or hungover). It was pretty funny to see some people just trying to walk to the next bar. It's also very sad because it only one night and it that 4hrs or so many people can either die or get very sick by having to much or someone spiking there drink.
We've been able to work with a couple of investigators this week. We our down to one investigator now because one of them went back to jail for 40 days because he did not pass his breathing testing in the morning when he showed up to the court house. The investigator that we were teaching was a brother of a recent convert of a 1 year. Elder Humphreys and I are planning to start working with him when he gets out of jail.
Went to a wedding and Elder Humphreys and I were in the wedding as the standing in and walking people down row. It was great to see a Less Active family get married. Just now have to work with the husband now on taking the lessons and getting baptized so they can go to the temple! :)
Elder Humphreys and I are still working with T.J R, T.J is amazing we went over the Word Of Wisdom this week! :) Started the 7 day stop smoking program with him and he started it with his wife which was way cool. One amazing miracle we had this week was that T.J's wife came to church! So Elder Humphreys and I set a goal on Friday to find a family of 3 for that day. It was 9pm at night and we started our nightly planning that we do each night for the next day. We received a text from T.J that said " I and my wife our drifting a declaration for the stop smoking and also my wife will be attending church with me." She sounds like she's going to give us a change to work with her. T.J is still on date for May 3rd 2014! He is amazing he reads all the books including D&C, Pearl Of Great Price and also looks up on his own time the Mormon Channel videos! :) T.J is amazing, Tomorrow we will be going over Priesthood, Temple prep and also church aux. :)
So yesterday we had Ward Conference which was great because after church I was able to answer some of T.J's text about the organization of the church. I was able to lead him to D&C 1:20 and also section 20 which is explains organization and priesthood and other. Elder Humphreys and I were also able to give a few blessing to a family in the ward the Sultemeier's. The Sultemeier's are amazing  young family that foods us about every Sunday! :) Last night we were able to share about Mosiah 2 about King Benjamin address and I have in my scriptures off to the side General Conference. It kinda shows me that King Benjamin's address was one of the first kinda General Conference as you read Verse 1-9. Elder Humphreys and I have been using Mosiah 2:17 a lot in lessons and switch "service " into "Love" because as we our able to love each of God's kid he will have the Love for us. :)
Well that's the update for the week :) Hope you have amazing week! I was able to activate my Card, Thanks
Also that my insight for the week ! :) LOVE Your Family!! Crazy I'm going to be at 21 months on Friday!

Amazing Week!!

On with the airport stuff, I really don't mind. I know that it will save lot's more money for the family if we just do the St. George airport. The only reason I would like to do the SLC airport is that I have many friends and the Butler 11th ward I would like to see and also that two of the MTC friends I cameout with will be going to that airport also.
Anyways on with the week in The Blue Water area. To start of the week right, Elder Humphreys and I had a great lesson on Monday with an investigator TJ. R. We've been meeting with TJ over the last couple of weeks and TJ put his self on date for May 3, 2014.  We are planning to see TJ this week and just go over the commandments from God. :) We also had a Zone Conference over the week and it went amazing. We learned how to work with Less Actives more effectively and also helping our investigators how to read. It pretty sad to see that many people don't know how to read so we have to teach them how to.
I was sick over the week for two days. I think it was just the flu but I lost a couple of pounds and went right back where I was 108lb which kinda stick but hopefully this week I can keep it all down and gain some mass more then only a couple of days.
Oh yeah I was  going to share some more insight about what I got out of the talk and scripture last week.
To start off we will start with the song "Do what is right let the Consequence Follow" that Elder Richard G Scott used in the Feb 2014 Ensighn. As we see in Helaman Chapter 5 verse 1-3 Nephi gives up the judgment seat to a man name Cezoram because he knew that he had to go out and save his people in the church.  Nephi gives up the seat and goes out and teach his people and tells his son in verse 12 of Chapter 5. "And now may sons remember remember tat it is upon the rock of our redeemer who is Christ the Son of God that you must build your foundation that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds......................."   Then when we go over to chapter 5 of Helaman you see that success of Nephi even though he gave up the judgment seat. Off to the side of Chapter 6 of Helaman I put what the Admiral  said to Richard G Scott "When you finish your mission, I want you to comeback and work for me" Even though Nephi did not get the judgment seat back he saw many blessing the came to Nephites and Lamanites that to followed his advice. Just like following the the 10 ways to succeed in life from Richard G. Scott. :)
Well hope you all have a great day, and sorry for the short email. I hope that the insight I gave was in line, I was kinda all over the place when I was thinking of it. It one of my harder ones to make sense.
    Love Elder Jenson

Another Great Week

Sorry I'm so late with emailing, but dad will understand why :) So Today Elder Humphreys and I went fishing down on the Port Huron river, no success. Elder Humphreys and I decide to call a member in the ward to find out the best fishing spot. Brother Zimmer told us to go over to a like. So we did and we went Ice fishing over there. Had no success but is was still fun. Elder Humphreys and I decide that we will go fishing the last part of the transfer which is the first week in April when it does get warmer. Hopefully in the first part of April the fish will bite.
Alright on to the missionary work So we have been very busy which is really awesome. Elder Humphreys and I have been working with this one new investigator. His name is T.J. R, we've had two lessons with him and also have been to church once. TJ was not able to make it out to church yesterday because his five month year old son got sick for the first time and he had to take care of him. TJ is a amazing man that was just looking around for a new church and he knew that Mormon's were big in families so he reffed himself. Planning to tech TJ tonight The Gospel Of Jesus Christ. We are working with a couple other investigators and really been working with many Less Actives that are so close to coming back to church.
I don't know if you have had the Sister missionary's over in a while but anyways. Our ward mission leader is trying to get us into members homes to teach them all the messages we teach to investigators. So that includes The Restoration of the Gospel, The Plan Of Salvation and also The Gospel of Jesus Christ. Which are the three main lessons then the other three which our The Word of Wisdom, The Law of Chasity and also Tithing and fast offerings. It's been really awesome because we've been able to teach the members and get insight from them. Also the members know that they are back up plans to anything that fall through.
It's really hard to think of things to email the family and friends so if you could ask me some questions each week that would be nice. :)  I don't know what I've told you about the mission, I hope my emails are still good. Some weeks it feels like I say the same thing with some type of cool insight or story to tell.  Anyways I have a cool insight I thought of this week during my scripture reading..........Have been reading from Helaman chapter 1 and also 2. So I read the talk from Richard G. Scott "Living a life of peace, Joy and Purpose" and what I got out of it that it testify of the same stuff. Even though it was 600BC. I don't have my scripture in front of me right now because just came back from ice fishing but I will share more of the insight in detail next Monday.
I love the last part of your letter mom, it reminds me of another cool thing that a missionary showed me in the past. In 2 Nephi 9:39  O, my beloved brethren, remember the awfulness inatransgressing against that Holy God, and also the awfulness of yielding to the enticings of that bcunning one. Remember, to beccarnally-minded is ddeath, and to be espiritually-minded is flifegeternal. If you take Spiritually minded is life eternal. The first letter of each word spells out "Smile"  So if we let our self keep learning and have a spiritual mind we will always have a "SMILE" on our face.

Awesome Week!

It's very sad to hear about Jayce, but we all do know that she is in a better place right now. Tell the Glovers that I'm praying for there family. Sounds like everyone is still keeping busy which is great. Yes it is so crazy that I have only about 4 months left to go, but anyways lets move on from that topic. :)
So to start off the week we had transfers on Tuesday. Elder Humphreys and I stayed at the apartment because the Office Elders were bring Elder Peterson up and also the truck because we had to finish cleaning out the Croswell Apartment. Elder Humphreys and I set up some appointments during the morning time and it went great then we headed up to Crowell the finish cleaning the apartment. Sleept over in the Croswell apartment Tuesday night and finished cleaning it out on Wednesday morning.  We received Edler Peterson. Then we went to an apartment out in Brown City to see Vanessa, it went pretty good other then that she has not text us back since then so I don't know whats up. Elder Humphreys and I are planning to stop by Vanessa on Wednesday when we are in the area. We will be driving every Wednesday now to Lapree (1in half drive) for district meeting which will be fun.
Wednesday- On Wednesday we had district meeting over in Lapree and it went great. Elder Ewell who I came out with me is in the district so that is fun to see how much he has change since the MTC. After district meeting we had some appointment over in the north are of Blue water area (Croswell, Brow City and other). They all went very wheel. Went and introduced Elder Peterson to the Hurley's (the family with the buffalo pic).
Thursday- On Thursday we had a couple of appointments in Blue water then just went tracking a little bite. Had a dinner apartment with a family in the ward . Went awesome just taught the Restoration Of The Gospel. Then just saw more members in the ward and introduced Elder Peterson then saw a couple of Less actives.
Friday- So on Friday we went about 200 miles for the day because we had an apartment all the way up in Sandusky then went over to Brown City to contact a referral that we received then also drive down to New Haven on the other side of the area to contact another referrals that we did receive. Had many great lesson with the referral and also couple of Less Actives and then just stop byes. Then we went into the apartment at 7pm because we still had to do weekly planning (Do every Friday morning from 10am to 1pm, figure out who we have for the next week, look at goals we set for the week, schedule apointments and other stuff).
Saturday- Had many good lessons and saw lots of people.
Sunday- So on Sunday we went to church and we had three less actives show up to church with also three investigators at church so that was way awesome. Then after Church we received a phone call from President, we found out that Elder Peterson was getting moved to a new area because a elder went home because of medical problems. So know it's only Elder Humphreys and I taking care of the area :). We got up about 20 lessons this week which I have not gotten up to since Flint and did get a couple of weeks in Warren.
Well today we are just hanging out then waiting to see if a member is still up to going ice fishing later on today!! :) Elder Humphreys and I are planning if Humphreys stays next transfer we are going to go fishing every Monday.
Thanks for being such a awesome family and parents!! :) I love that I can always say to each of my companions that the parents and I always got along, other then just little stuff that I did dumb other then that we have always been really close! Thanks
      Love Elder Jenson
P.S sent the letters in the mail. Also the talk that mom told me to read last week. On Sunday night before I got the email from mom I started to read it then I finished it after you told me about it in the email. I love that talk it really did help me. I kinda cried/laughed because I was going through the "you need money, name, and all the above" to make a name for yourself and get anywhere in life. Elder Richard G Scott's talk did help me out  a lot. Thanks

Closed :/

Well from the title of the email, you probably know where I'm going with this. So as I said a couple of weeks ago that we heard from the last elder here that in his interview President Gerber asked him if he should close the Blue Water North area down...............This last week on Wednesday we had Specialized Training with the Blue Water District (Elder Williams, Elder Humphrey, Elder Jones and I)  and then another District. Specialized Training went pretty good. It was a Q&A and read about the experience of  Moses seeing God and all. Had some really good in sight and also deep doctrine.
To go on after the Specialized Training which is only 3 hrs. President Gerber asked  if the Blue Water District would come and talk to him. Pres did not have a very happy face so we thought we were all in trouble just because of the last couple of weeks. Which I've told you about. So we went and talk to President Gerber and he asked  basically  "give me a couple reasons why the North area should be open". We gave him a couple, then I said that one reason why I think the area is not going anywhere is because you stick an Elder there for 6 weeks then you pull the one out and you expect the Elder that was there for the 6 weeks have everything to normal and the bring a new Elder in and then do the something the last 5 transfers". Thanks that I have Elder Jones and the other Elders to back me up because when I said it, it did not come out like I want'ed it to. President Gerber said thanks and we were done.
Elder Jones and I, the rest of the week just went and saw the normal people. We actually had a pretty good week for numbers. Then we were like yeah Pres is going to close it. So we got the call Saturday night. The Blue Water North area is closing. Elder Jones and I have been cleaning the apartment and all. The mission is giving the apartment back and we have had that apartment for I would guess seven years or so. The mission has closed the area before but in the past the Elders would just switch apartments during the week so they could cover both areas equally. So I guess I can say that I've had a area closed on me, don't know if that's good or bad.
I will be down with Elder Humphrey and we will be getting a new companion with us. Elder Humphrey and I will be covering the biggest area in the mission!! :) Well the biggest now, I was in the biggest area when it was splint. It's going to be crazy. :) Elder Humphrey and I are best buds! It's will be a lot of hard work and lot's of fun depending on who we get for the third companion. Anyways Elder Humphrey and I are determined to work hard and have fun even if the third companion is  not so for the either working hard or having fun. I would  have to guess the area know is a lot bigger then  Kane County!
Elder Jones was a fun companion to be with, we did work and also had a lot of fun. I have been able to learn a lot from Elder Jones.

Well other then that I will email you tomorrow to let you know my new third companion and all. I will try to do the mathematics of the area to tell you how big the area is now. I'm guessing lot's of the Lansing Mission is the normal size of now called the Blue Water area. For Grandma and Grandpa Tischler  :)  My new address is: 2072 Parkdale Dr. Port Huron, MI 48060

Tell Derek to have a very Happy B-DAY on the 26!  Thanks the three little ones for the letters :)
Well love you family, and keep up the work and having fun!!

              Love Elder Jenson

Blue Water

Well this week in the Blue Water  North area has been going pretty dang well and can't really complain much. It's been getting a little warmer then usually which is always nice. Have been able to where a sweeter.
To start of the week last week we were able to see a couple of Less Actives that live way far from Croswell. They live over in Brown city which is about a 45 min drive and a lot of miles. So we had a couple of Less Actives that we have never meet, either of us so we decided to take a day out and see the 10 or so LA's. Elder Jones and I were able to do some service for an older guy that is a LA and he is way nice. I guess he just got out of the hospital for some kinda of surgery. We were able to clean his drive way off. Which is pretty cool because when we do ask anyone even LA if they need any help they usually say no but this time the guy we meet said yep. Elder Jones and I will probably stop on by on Tuesday when we are in the neighborhood.  After we stopped bye him Elder Jones and I stopped by a part member family which is way awesome. The daughter Haley and the mother Vanessa which is not a member yet. Anyways Elder Jones and I knocked on the door and Vanessa invited us in and said that Haley (member of 5 yrs, 15 yr old)  was not there but if we stopped bye tomorrow we could come over for dinner and a message, which surprised  both of us because we were not expecting that. So we set up for the next night and we had a ZL (Zone Leader) with us Elder Chamberlain. The Lesson went way great, just reviewed The Restoration Of The Gospel Of Jesus Christ with the pamphlets. :) Elder Jones and I do great as a companionship! Picked up Vanessa as a new investigator and planning on going over tomorrow night and watching the Jesus Christ video with Vanessa and Haley because they have the DVD that the missionary's in the past gave them but they have not watched it so Elder Jones and I are planning on watching that and doing an introduction of The Book Of Mormon.  Other then that that the really only investigator that we have :/ will be looking for some more this week through PM (part member family's).
So we went of to Brown City, MI which I said in the first part of the email and it is a pretty cool town. Brown City is about the size of Kanab,UT and it does remind me a lot of back home just like the streets and the lay out of the town. The cool thing about Brown City is that for the welcome sign to Brown City I guess it's the home of the birth place of the Motor homes and also have a little Amish community so we've seen Amish people walking on the side of the street and some biggie's.
I was able to go on an exchange over the weekend with Elder Humphreys because the Elder Williams (DL) wanted to go with Elder Jones up in our area. Elder Humphrey has been out about 8 months and is an amazing Elder! Elder Humphreys and I have some funny story's from that exchange like getting flipped off and also the same person told us the "-

, Off". We were heading back to the apartment for the night to start the exchange and Elder Humphreys was getting ride on by the car in back of him and he switched lines  right when the person in back of him switch so they won't to happy about that. I sure did let us know! The next morning Elder Humphreys and I went tracking, had much success and had many great lessons with investigators in there area! It sure was good being able to teach a lot and go tracking! There area is like ST. George and  Elder Jones and my area is just like Kanab but smaller town but the same distance about to St. George (Port Huron).
Well this week in transfers so that should be interesting and we have specialized training down  in Warren area on Wednesday :) about a 2 hr dive to get down there.
Well Love you family and have an amazing week!! Help the Sister missionary's out in Kanab when you have time because it's really hard to do missionary work in a very big area with small town with people knowing your car and all. :) Tell Derek that he should have a letter coming his way! Also did you get my letter I sent  last week??

        :) Love Elder Jenson
P.S- Been looking through all the letters I've received and working on writing back to people that I've not got back to. So I will in the next couple of weeks send a package with letters you can hand out to who they say it goes to! :) Thanks and love you tons family

Family!

Hey family, sounds like that Jordan had a pretty good Birthday. I'm sorry that I did not wish him a happy B-day. :( When I got back to the apartment last Monday I was like "oh crap that's what I forgot to tell Jordan. Is to have a good B-day".
Well this week in the Blue Water North area, nothing has happen much, we've been trying to figure out who's in the ward and what's one's have moved out. Elder Jones and I went out with a member (Brother Perry, recent convert  of about a year) in the ward to help him with home teaching and that was great for us because we won't ever able to get in contact with this part member family. Now that the family kinda knows us, we might just have a way in the door.
The other day we had a great Zone Meeting with (ZL's Elder Uptain and Eleder Chamberlain) it was on the atonement and directed to the missionaries. It went pretty good, Elder Chamberlain did the example of having a donut and then an Elder would do 10 push ups each for everyone even if they did not want the donut. I felt kinda bad because everyone was crying and I was not crying. One reason was because you being the great seminary teacher already did it and I knew the focus of it. I don't know, some Sisters and Elders were crying pretty bad. I'm very happy that I know why Jesus Christ had to suffer for us, don't know if this is bad to say but it's life. Heavenly Farther sent his son's for us because there is no really other way to get back with God accept through the Atonement of Jesus Christ all thing are possible. Anyways  I was asked by the ZL's to give a testimony a night before the zone meeting at the zone meeting. I did it a different way kinda, I somewhat did a two minute instruction on Alama 37:6-7 and went off on that and shared my testimony. :) So that was pretty cool and everyone like the way.
So yesterday I talked in church :) went amazing! I gave a 25min talk on The Plan Of Salvation: A Flight Plan For Life that was given in the 1997 General Conference by Duane B. Gerrard. I decided that I love speaking much more then teaching for some funny reason! I will sent you the talk I gave this week in the mail.
Well other then that the mission is been great, love it and sure have been learning a lot from it :) Will be praying for the Glover family.
Love Elder Jenson  have an happy Valentine

Jan 27, 2014

Family,

Hey Family, sure does sound like you guys are having a great time. That was fun to hear that you and mom were able to get time away from the crazy kids, crazy life and time to yourself down in Vegas. Yeah I actually talk to Brother Moody on the phone the other day and he is doing great. I told him that the family is doing good and that the parents had a great time in Vegas then he told me that his family is planning to move down to Vegas around July and also he told me that he also could get great deals for you guys to shows and other places down there if you want. He told me that he would give you guys a call to see how the family is doing.
Well the Blue Water area has been going. It's been a very slow area and just still figuring out where we are going to be working with the next month or so. Elder Jones and I have pretty much figured it out where we want the area to go in the next 4 weeks . We heard from an Elder that was just here before me, that in his interview that President asked him if they should keep the area open or not. Also from Elder Jones and what I got from interviews on Friday is that just keep yourself up and keep working hard. I just told President "that the area is an very hard area probably the hardest area I have been in. I don't want to sounds trunky but I would like to end up in an area where I can finish strong. Then I said I don't know what is coming the next couple of weeks but if it stays like it has for the last year it will be hard to finish strong, just trying to keep yourself busy without doing the same the same thing you do each week." President said thanks and just shared the story of what happened in President Thomas S. Monson mission when he was the Mission President in Canada. Elder Jones and I are just going to keep it up and make sure it does not get any worse then it is now.
It's sad when you have amazing very strong members saying if they don't get the branch up started again I probably in the next couple of months wont be coming to church. The hard thing is where we live in Croswell,Mi it's about the size of Kanab and they know what car we drive and who we are. They don't really like us. Also Elder Jones told me in the last 5 months the area's that we work in have been tracked out in only a week from other really great Elders. My goal is to keep the area open and at least someone on date! :) We are working with many less actives that where amazing with coming to church before they close the branch. It used to be an 30 min or less drive to church for members in my area and now it's an hour in a half or more to get to church. We are working with a couple investigators that are doing pretty good other then making it out to church. :(
Interviews went great, just talked about the area and what I thought then President Gerber asked me what I got out of the Book Of Mormon reading that we did a couple of weeks ago. When we had to stay in for the day because it was really cold. I just told him about what I shared with you guys a couple of weeks ago about Nephi killing Laban. He said that was really cool to hear and thanks for the insight. Then I was able to help Sister Gerber along with her instruction on Alma 36, She did a good job but she only used the last couple of verses in Alama 36. I was able to give my insight on Alma 36 from the begin which was good because I've studied that Chapter a lot over the mission. Have it all high lighted and lot's of cool insight have got in my own personal study time.
Other then that just keeping the area up and standing! :)
Well you know this because I say it almost every week but love you family. Oh yeah dad you should tell me some fun mission story's that you have or really cool insight that you've gain during your mission and being a dad. Never have heard much about your mission and I would like to hear that.
Love Elder Jenson the older :)

BlueWater!!!

Well the first week in the BlueWater area has been great, it's a lot different the Warren but I do love it. BlueWater is a lot slower then Warren. We've just been stopping by some investigators that we've been working with and a couple less actives in the Ward.
Last night when Elder Jones and I where heading to an investigator house and we were in the drive way of the house and we saw a car coming out so we pulled off at dirt drive way and we got stuck in the Jeep Campus!! Haha we got stuck for about 15 minutes or so. But we did get out, the funny thing it used a couple of miles.
I was able to attend Terrell and Lorenda Baker wedding! :) It was amazing!! I cried kinda because it's so cool to see that Terrell was baptized only a couple of months ago and know he is married. Also with see Lorenda  and the Moore family changing. Elder Carter and his new companion are working with Lorenda's mom so she can get back to the temple! :) It's so awesome to see people change so much in only in a couple of months from meeting them for the very first time!
Well other then that not much has been going on just trying to found how we can get the BlueWater North area back on it's feet and running again. It's been pretty died over the last couple of years, still had missionary's in the aria but died.
Sounds like You and Dad having a great time having Elder Jenson the Younger and I gone! :)
Oh yeah what did you think about my little insight study scripture thing I sent last week?

Well love You Family :) Keep up the work

Transferred!!

Hey family this week has been another great week in the Warren West area, Elder Carter and I have been able to have a lot a success in this area. With having a Baptism and reactivating a couple of people and will also later this week will be working with lot's of our new investigators that we've picked up over the last couple of weeks and also last week.
This week has been a lot better and I've been able to work and being more Christ-like, yesterday was kinda funny. Yesterday in sacrament meeting the Bloomfield Stake President came and talked to the ward also smacked down on the ward about doing member missionary work but while he was doing it he said "we don't know who will accept the gospel" then went on with it does not matter who it might be, just share the message. I was listening to him and it was a slap to the face for me because I've  been pretty judgmental over the last couple of weeks. So that's what I will work on, working on having...........I would say have Christ like vision, do what Christ did when he saw someone out of the norm.
Terrell Baker and Lorenda Moore will be getting married this Saturday @ 4 pm, so that will be awesome to see and help with :) I've been able to get a yes from President Gerber to comeback for the wedding!
Other then that, tomorrow is Transfer meeting, so later in the afternoon I will let you know where I went and the address, It's crazy that this might be my last area, unless President Gerber and God do, 1 and 3, 2 and 2 and 3 and 1 or just leave me in the next area for 4 transfers. Who knows.
Well tell Savanah, thanks for writing me and also Derek updating me in his fun life. Well Love you family, and hope you have amazing week this week! :)
PS- What I've came up with in study's the other day, so I've heard this quote from somewhere and someone on my mission and found it the other day "Man (or woman) will always find himself, where he can solve his problems" Then while I was looking in The Book Of Mormon I thought of when Nephi kills Laban. In 1 Nephi 4:5-24. Then I change the quote a little and put "Man (or woman) will always find himself where he can fix his problems......with God in  the mix of it all". Then pointed out a couple of key verse V. 7- God hand in the work, 18-19 God given knowledge and use. Then I add 7+(18-19) = Success in which is in V.13 Behold the Lord Slayeth the wicked  to bring forth his righteous purposes. It's better that one man should perish than that a nation should dwindle and perish in unbelief" :)

 Love you Family!!  :)

Happy New Years!!
Hey Family, this week has been another good learning week for me in the Warren West area. For some reason over the last couple of weeks or so Elder Carter and I have been picking up new investigators. There is this one investigator that we picked up earlier this week. Elder Carter and I were heading out of the apartment complex because we see Amir, he his like Joseph Dalamore (Butler 11th ward) that everyone loves and we share messages and watch DVDs from the church. But when we were heading out of Amir's complex this middle age woman asked us for our business card so I get it out and it's a picture of Jesus Christ, she smiled and asked us if we could come share a message which we did the next day............I don't really know what I'm suppose to get out of this. Either be patience with people or give everyone the chance to hear the gospel more then one lesson. One great thing I've been able to learn with Elder Carter is just always be positive even if it looks totally bad. I think I'm to realistic and I just need to be more Christ like and take one step at a time. I've learned and always will be learning that I can let stuff just come to me and not me going to it, if that make any sense.
    I'm overall pretty happy everyday.
Well we've been working with Lorenda's (getting married on Jan 18th to Terrell :)0 mom,
Other then that it's just been really snowy, cold and also just been working with investigators and a couple of Less actives in the ward.
This week is transfer calls so who knows if I'm going to be staying or going.
Love you family and stay warm this cold couple of months! :)

Love Elder Jenson
