Hey Family
It was awesome to be able to talk to the family on Christmas, It was kinda wired because I do still love you guys but it wasn't as emotional  like the first time I talk to you on the phone.
Well that's no fun to hear that Sunny has to leave our place. Who is John and Holly? Well I guess say bye to Sunny to me.

This week has been a pretty good week for Elder Carter and I,

Elder Jones and I went on a exchange the other day and it was great. We were both able to do some great missionary work and find a couple potentials for there area and then just had fun talking about small towns, sports, Brandon and friends that we both know. Elder Jones is an awesome District Leader but I still have to get back at him for throwing me under the bus at The Haskel's house on Christmas day. Right before we left to go and visit other people he told Brother Haskel that would love to speak on Sunday. :) So I gave a talk on Sunday on goal setting.
Other then that the weeks has just been filed with tracking, stop byes, less actives and more appointments :)

Well Love you Family :) Have a very happy new years I will try to stay out of the Bars this New Years.
   Love Elder Jenson

December 23, 2013

Hey Family this week has been a great week in the Warren area. We had Zone Conference on Tuesday and it went great, we were able to learn how to us the new teaching (the pamphlets) more insight and how we can go deeper into it then just asking them what they see in the picture.

Elder Carter and I have been doing great, We've just been working with the investigators that we do have and also less actives, which is has been a great experience and a funny one. One of the family's that we have been working with is an husband and a wife that live down in Detroit on 7 mile, which is not the best place. But anyways we took Bishop Lund with us to an apartment we had. It went great but during the lessons we heard a mouse and Elder Carter saw the mouse running across the kitchen floor. The family was a referral that we we received a couple weeks ago, nice couple (40's) So it's been very interesting this week with work with this family. Will take a lot of time but will hopefully baptism sometime in the future. The couple does have a good heart and want to change.
Elder Carter and I have been working with this member that just moved into the area this week. She reminds me a lot of Linda (mom's sister, that we moved a lot), I've been able to work on understanding people, working on not judging, also patience with them.
Yesterday was a great day, The Warren ward did a surprise party for me after church which was really cool! Also President Gerber called me up in the morning and wished me an Happy Birthday which is cool to see.
Over all the week has been great!
Love you Family, Have a Merry Christmas!! :)
Hope to hear from you Christmas day!

Love Elder Jenson

December 16, 2013

Well to move on, this week has been another good week, Elder Carter and I were able to teach 20 lessons this week but only really one family is progressing. Eloise (40's) and Shawn (40's) are doing great, Shawn came with us to a baptism that the other Warren Elders had, and it was good to see that he can't wait for that day and how he will make any change in his life to make it, . Bishop Lund was able to talk to Shawn about helping them get everything and using the church.
Terrell and Lorenda are doing great, We've missed them the last couple of Sunday's at church because of this nasty weather that is getting Terrell and Lorenda sick, We see them about twice a week and just hope that we don't get sick just being there. Last Thursday was Terrell's Birthday.  Other then that much has not been going on, just the same tracing, finding, teaching and the missionary conference.
So how is the ward doing, I was reading a letter I got last Christmas time from Casey Glover and just want to know how he and his family doing. Haha does the Glover Family have home teacher's yet. Tell them thanks for all they have done for me, being able to have a great Family to teach each month.
One thing if I can say, just encourage the ward to do there home teaching and how important it is to know the Family they have. Since I've been out I have been able see that the home teaching really all over the world is not the best but each time you see your family it brings them happens and less likely to go less active depending how long they have been in the church which might be different in Utah because it's Utah. I've been happy to say that I've never missed a month really (probably have) not going home teaching.
We are able to Skype and we do have somewhere to do it, but I'm not sure if I want to Skype. Just the Phone call because I know it will be harder for me. I will think it over this week and let you know next Monday. :)
Well Love You Family and hope you have a great week this week! :)

December 9, 2013

Like always thanks for the update!

Well this week in the mission has been a wonderful week for Elder Carter and I, we were able to teach 18 lessons this week which is great also were able to find a couple new investigators. Over the month or so We've been working with Eloise and Shawn, they both told us that they will be getting baptized in January but we don't have a date for them because they first need to get married. We've taught all the lessons just really now baptism but we will still be seeing them twice a week or so. :)
Terrell and Lorenda are doing amazing, They wont able to make it out to church yesterday because they both were sick, but we are planning to see them a couple times this week. Terrell's birthday is this Thursday so we will be going over there to teach and have a party with him haha.
One of the most funniest thing happen yesterday on the phone when I was talking to Lorenda, so I called them yesterday after church telling them we missed them at church and hope things are going good. Also was seeing when would it be a good time we could see them this week. In all that Lorenda thought I said I love them, which I do but I did not say that. So Lorenda said we love you too Elder Jenson. I laughed inside because I did not say that but I just played it cool and said "yep" kinda funny.
So I've been reading Jesus The Christ and also the New Testaments. First The New Testaments because President and Sister Gerber asked us the read the Gospels which I love and Second Jesus The Christ to help me keep focus and not worry about things that I can't really control until after the mission just because I'm a missionary. I've read Jesus The Christ once on the mission about 6 or so months ago and it's so cool to get different insights with reading Jesus The Christ and also The Gospels which I've read a couple times over the mission.
On Saturday the Warren Elders about an hour before correlation went to a Christmas festival they had in the Warren City Hall which was way cool. They had donkeys, sheep, camel and other fun stuff so that was cool to go see. Then we just went the Brother Ellison's house (Ward Mission Leader ) to have correlation.
This week has been a really fun and good week for Elder Carter and I. We are planning to keep it up! :)

Broke the Streak :)

Hey family it's great to know that you guess are doing great! This week has been a slow week in The Warren West area, we've been able to get in contact with one or two less actives. Elder Carter and I are planning to see them later this week down in Detroit. The other day we went down to Detroit around 5:30pm and it started to get dark. We saw the less active sister we were going down to see walking down the street. We did not really see her because it was dark, but like I always do I say hi to them when we ride by. So I said hi, she said "you looking for me" and we said yep. She said that I recognized Elder Jenson Voice. So that was pretty cool. We walk with Bridget. J (LA) down to the market to get some food and Bridget just was telling us to never come down to Detroit in the night time. We also shared a little message on the way back from the market. I have lot's of nick-names in the mission (Batman, Ali Baba (off of Aladdin, member in the ward from middle east calls me that, still have not found why), and just got a new one from Bridget. J haha she calls be little Jesus because in her words "I'm not scared going down to Detroit at night time and you act like you own the ghettos" something on that line so that was funny but I do know don't go down to Detroit at night unless you have a set appointment especially at this time of year of the season.
Thanksgiving day went great :) Went over to Frank. L  Ellison's (Ward Mission Leader and Relief society pres) had a great dinner, then went up to The Mayo's (stake ward missionary's called to serve in the Warren Ward) house that night up in Bloomfield Hills. It was really fun and very very nice dinner. The Mayo's have invited there friends  and missionary's over each year over the past 15yrs. One cool thing is that to get your pie after Thanksgiving dinner you have to come with an act or something to do, to show to everyone at dinner. I just did "God has perfect timing, never early, never late. It takes a little patience and a lot of faith. But it's always worth the wait". then shared a little message with the spirit I guess if you would say that. Did not want it to be a powerful message but did make some people cry and feel the spirit which is cool because I was not heading to that.
Other then that had an amazing fun week, got transfer calls the other day and Elder Carter and I are staying together which is kinda socking but it's way cool because he is a great Elder. Haha has help me to understand Derek a lot better probably I would say the same personality. :)

Well Love you family, keep up the missionary work and the normal stuff :)

Family and Friends :)

This week has been one of the best week in the mission filed I've had, I've been able to learn a lot just over this week!

Monday- On Monday like usually we go over to Ann's and hang out with the family, share a message then have some dinner. We found out that Anna took a calling to be an visiting teach which will be great for her :)

Tuesday- On Tuesday we were able to teach a great lesson to Shawn (LA) and Eloise (I) about The Proclamation To The Family and a little about the Book Of Mormon which is always great!! :) Also we were able to see Amir we see him each Tuesday and just share a message about Jesus or a Mormon Message. We also saw Sis. Ware (Member) just shared a message and give her comfort. Then later that night we felt like we should stop by Terrell and Lorenda. We  did and Terrell was having an hard time that day so we were able to talk about what was going on in his day. We were also to answer some of Lorenda's questions.

Wednesday- On Wednesday, we had apartment inspection but we did not have it because the crappy phone service we have with Sprint. So the Senior couple that was coming to inspect the apartment gave us a call to let us know they were at the apartment but we did not get the call only the voice mail like a half an hour later. So we never did have inspection :( But I do know that the apartment does look dang good with the cleaning of Elder Carter and I! ha
Later that day we stopped by a less active family and we able to teach the son Jaelen (14) about how reading The Book Of Mormon is very important then just shared the story about Alma the Younger :) Then stopped just by Eloise and Shawn to see how they are doing with praying and scripture study. Then went to a Bible study!

Thursday- Did weekly planning, Mormon.org then went and tracted  :) Then took Eloise and Shawn later that night to the I'm Mormon Devotional that the mission does each month. Then after that talk to couple missionary then talk to this one friend that was there and the family.

Friday- On Friday  we had an specialized training with only two Districts (20 or so missionary's) 9-4pm. We learned how to teach really simple from the pamphlets. We are starting to tech now just from using the picture in the pamphlets then asking the investigator what they see in the picture then explaining it to them. :) I love the new way of teaching because it's a lot easier for me because it lets me not have to worry if they are not understanding me because I just simple have to explain the picture in a couple words, testify then move to the next page. Love it!

Oh yeah told President that I know Brother Perry Montoya, so he took a picture of me and sent it to Brother Montoya and put in the text "recognize the face"

Saturday- Went on exchanges with the Zone Leader (Elder Burfess) he is an amazing missionary that helped me a lot on Saturday when we did go contacting and tracting! I told Elder Burfess I like tracting and contacting but I feel like I'm wasting my time because people don't understand me.  Elder Burfess told me just talk to everyone and the Lord will give the message through the  spirit even if they don't hear or understand me. Also it shows God that you do care! :)
P.S- got some more sweet insights from study the other day :)   "how does God Take This"

           Alma 7:11-12 ....... 2 Nephi 2:25-27

Well Love you family keep up the hard work with sports and everything else! Oh yeah transfers this week :) hope I can keep the streak up :) 3 transfers in an area !

Sorry Dad President Gerber dos not remember you but he says hi and Thanks

Nov 18, 2013

Thanks for the update :) It's always great to hear the family is doing great. Tell Jacob nice work on the hunter safety test. Tell Jaxon that I got his email and I also do miss him very much! Tell Savanah to keep up the good work in sports. Tell Derek that he should make some cookies for me. Jordan keep it up with just being a happy little camper
Well this week has been a very positive week for Elder Carter and I. We've been able to see Terrell and Lorenda and they are both doing great. Still make big changes in there life and they are both happy about it. We are planning to see them Wednesday, and Friday this week! They are an amazing people. Lorenda and Terrell are planning to get married Jan 1, 2014!     Yesterday we were able to have an investigator come to church, named Melvurn. Elder Carter and I have been teaching him over the last month or so. He is a great man that is looking for really just any good gospel. On Saturday we were able to teach Melvurn about the Holy Ghost and how it works, It was a great lessons. Also Elder Carter and I went tracing the other night and we were both able to see the blessing from it when it's only 7 pm and everyone else thinks 10 pm or later because it gets dark at 6 pm.
On Thursday, we went over to Anna Burlingame's (LA) to teach her son James (21) about baptism and never did get around to it because of my finger. Anna knew about it and I did not think it was a big deal thought the swelling would go away in a day or two. Anna look at it and told me that I should go get it looked at so we went to the urgent care. The urgent care was not the best because they were workers and also the Dr. swearing. I was waiting in a room about 30min until he came and looked at my finger. While I was hearing everyone complaining and swearing I was just thinking how I'm great full that I have the gospel and I live it. I don't have to worry about really people to judge me because whatever they might judge me about is either good or they just don't like me. Haha also learned that just for a Doctor to poke my finger and tell me it will be fine and take some free prescriptions it coast $70 :/ no fun!
Over the week I've been able move couple of family's. I've been able to think just how great full it is that my parents have the money to have food, take care of 5 kids, 2 missionary's and still be able to pay the bill's and keep an house. I've been able to see through out the mission how the gospel does effect people in big ways on both ends if they don't follow the commandments that they made at baptism or if they do keep enduring to the end, how much it does bless there life!
Oh yeah while today in my study time I was able to read about Limhi (Mosiah Ch.21-22) and about his people and I was looking at my planner that has a quote that Savy gave to me about 6 months ago. "God has perfect timing never early, never late. It takes a little patience and a lot of faith. But it's always worth the wait". I've been able to relate that its so true in that scripture's and just in our daily life's

Love you family!! Love Elder Jenson :)   Side Note of what I read today in Mosiah
                                                                            chapter 21 Hardship 6-8
                                                                                                 12-16 learning experience
Chapter 22: 9-16 blessing from the Lord
"God has perfect timing never early, never late. It takes a little patience and a lot of faith. But it's always worth the wait"

Hey Family

Thanks for the great update. This week has been a very positive week in the mission filed. :)
To start out I was able to confirm Terrell Baker as a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints, I was able to learn that even if I did not feel like I said everything that needed it's what Terrell needed from God. I'm just the mouth piece for him. This week will be starting the new member lessons with Terrell and also we'll be focusing on Lorenda Moore :)
Monday- we just the good old P-day then went to the Burlingame's house and had a great family night, played a game called 5 sec, it's a pretty fun game.
Tuesday-  On Tuesday we had an amazing lesson  with a new investigator, Elder Carter and I received a referral  from the clothing drive, she believes all of it is true but prophets but we were able to help her overcome that concern. That even back in the time of Christ and also Moses that there has always been prophets in Christ church. We were able to explain that prophets are the way we can receive more direction from the Lord.
We also were able to see Sister Ware (60's very nice little woman that's been a member for a long time)  and teach another great lessons like we do every Tuesday :)  Were able to have are first set dinner apointment with the Atkinson's (member family that has two Adopted kids) other then just Anna Burlingame and the Ellison's (Ward Mission Leader). Shared a message from a Mormon message. After that just stopped bye Less actives in the area. Also got a flat tire on my bike.
Wednesday- Had the good time at Franks (member in the ward) meeting then saw Terrell and Lorenda with Bishop Lund, then went to a Catholic Bible Study the rest of the night.
Thursday- Had another good District meeting then did some service at The Burlingame's, raking leafs. Then just stopped bye more less active for the rest of the night. Also stopped bye a couple of referrals we still had to contact.
Friday & Saturday- Did weekly planning on Friday (10 am-1 pm) then just went and did our Mormon.org for the week then stopped bye less active that we have not stopped bye down in Detroit then had a couple of appointment's with investigators.

The week went pretty good for us, nothing else really just really don't like the weather at all! Today it will be in the 30' all day :(
Well keep up the good work family :) love you all!

   Love Elder Jensondsd

Nov 3, 2013

Hey Family and Friends, the missionary work is going great in the Michigan Detroit Mission!! Elder Carter and I have been blessed to be able to have a baptism over this last week! :) It's amazing like I said last week to see someone you meet couple of months ago for the first time and then seeing Terrell Baker in the baptism font with Elder Carter. It was also great to see Elder Carter, doing his first baptism every. I will be doing the Confirmation next Sunday :)
Alright to start off the week we had an appointment set up with Terrell and Larenda, but they wont able to make them because Terrell was not able to get work off the day we scheduled the appointments. We also set up the baptism for Saturday and  I found out on Thursday through an text Terrell that he won't be able to make it because his boss would not let him off from work. We already announced that he was getting baptized the Sunday before in church. Hahaha the funny thing about all this it happen all when we were on exchanges. So it was kinda crazy on that Thursday because I had to make sure that everyone in the ward knew that there was no baptism. Then I had to figure out if we could do it just on Sunday. It was kinda crazy because we had everything ready and set in stone. But I (Elder Carter was gone in another area) was able to figure out and get everything back in place.
On Sunday I was able to bear my testimony, and it's so crazy to be able to feel the love for people that you don't know much and in a matter of a couple of lessons you feel the love you have for the person. I know that if it was not the Lords work to send out 18-26 year old young men and woman you would not get the same feeling for someone you meet.
Yesterday before the baptism service I was able to talk to a member in the ward that is a service missionary from Bloomfield Hills. The Mayo's but Sister Mayo asked me if the mission was getting tiring because she has a son almost exactly my age and left at the same time as I did for the mission and Sister Mayo said in his letters she can tell it's getting tiring. I told her that it was kinda just because you saw the year of a missionary and you live it everyday also do the something but meet new people each day. I told her that you just have to keep moving on, and finish when you pass the finish line of being a full time missionary. :)
Well love you Family and Friends!
Keep up the good work kids in sports and Derek keep up the piano, the mission needs Elders that can play! :)

Love Elder Jenson

Oct 28, 2013

Hey Family, haha thanks for the sad update :( Kinda just cried right through the email, didn't think I would cry when I found out because I was not that close to Grandpa Wadley but I was thinking all that he did for our family.  also just hearing how mom was doing. I know that Grandpa her dad meant a lot to her even if I thought he was a little crazy.
Well to move on to the great news from Warren West area in Michigan Detroit Mission. The investigator that we have been working with, Terrell. B will be getting baptized this Saturday at 2pm :). He did pass his first interview with President Gerber but during the interview two Sundays ago there was a miss communication with what President Gerber heard from what Terrell was explaining. President thought that he said he was still doing the thing. Terrell said he was doing it a lot before he met us (Elder Tripp, Carter and myself)  but Terrell told him that he has been done with it the last 3 weeks. President thought he was still doing it, so I call President Gerber after the interview and told him that he did stop what he stopped and that there must of been a miss communication. Elder Carter and I fixed the problem and Terrell had a small interview yesterday with District Leader Elder Uptain (came out with me) and he passed. :) This week will be a great week for Elder Carter and I. Elder Carter will be baptizing Terrell because it's his first baptism ever and I will be confirming Terrell on Sunday! :) It's way cool to see that I've been able to meet him the first day with Elder Tripp then start teaching him with Elder Carter and now will be seeing him to get baptized. That does not happen much, being able to see some you start teaching get baptized!! :)
Elder Carlson of the seventy came down and we had a Zone Conference with him. Elder Carlson and President Gerber talked about how each of us missionary can become concentrated Elders and Sisters.
Other then that we've just been still working with many of the less actives in the ward, I've been able to see a couple of the less actives starting to come back to church! :)

PS. Oh yeah President Gerber used me in front of half of the mission. President Gerber was talking about faith, then he called me up and told the missionary's that I'm a great example of faith and how I've strengthen his testimony. Then while I was up there he explained what happen to me when I was a little baby and how it took lot's of faith for me to come out because of my voice. Then he had me read a paragraph from Preach My Gospel.
I don't know why everyone thinks it took a lot for me to come out kinda bugs me....I just tell people it's my duty, want to and I love the Gospel . The people expect a different answer, don't know why.

 Love Elder Jenson :)

Oct. 21, 2013

Dang saw that Detroit lost the other night :/ Oh well I still have my Boston Red Sox's but it would of been cool for Detroit Tigers to make it so it would give the city of Detroit to be happy about.
This week has been a good week for Elder Carter and I in the Warren West area :) We've been able to make more contact with are less actives and we will be seeing one of the less active family tonight then will be going to Anna Burlingame to have dinner and just talk. So Elder Carter and I got transfer call Sunday morning and we are both staying for another 6 weeks! :) Should go well, Elder Carter is a fun companion that reminds me a lot like Derek.
We also this week had a clothing drive that all the missionary's in the same building as the Warren Ward, helped out with. The Deseret Industry sent 12,000 ponds of clothing for the clothing drive in the community. Elder Carter and I were able to get lot's of referrals out of it. So we have just been contacting them.
Terrell and Larenda are doing great, President Gerber came down yesterday and gave Terrell the interview.  So we are hoping that we can talk with him on Thursday and just help him out to get to his date of baptism. :)
This week Elder Carlson of the Seventy is coming over to the Michigan Detroit Mission to come talk with the missionary's and to inspect couple appointments. President and Sister Gerber have said that he is a 4th general in the Army or something like that. I think they are just wanting us to clean really good in the apartments and trying to scare us, but O'well if it's clean to my standards which you know we should be good! :)
Well nothing much else has been going on, this week in the mission field, Tell Sister Honey and the girls thanks for the package they sent me. Loved the candy!!
Hope the family is doing great! Sounds like Brandon is doing great, emailed him last Monday.
     Love Elder Jenson

October 14, 2014

Haha gotta love the kids sure do miss them but I know that I will see them again!! Sounds like they are loving testimony meeting to much but that is great that they did it.

This week has been a pretty good week for Elder Carter and I, we were able to find many less active and teach them. We are planning to go back this week and teach a couple of the less actives that we have found :)
Terrell and Larenda were able to make it to church yesterday and they both said they loved it!!  We are planning to see them tomorrow and go over The Gospel Of Jesus Christ :) Terrell just needs to come to church next week then have a interview with President Gerber then we will be all set for baptism. Hope we and Terrell can do it. When we went over to Terrell and Larenda's house the other day Terrell was going through a lot of hard things and told us that he has fallen back in just some of his ways (thinking) I asked him if we could give him a blessing and he said "I would like one" so I gave the blessing and he said " everything that I was worrying about is off my mind and I know that I will be able to make it through these hard time, to make it to baptism". It's so amazing to see that if you living right, the power of the priesthood works through you.
Other then that not much has been going on, I was able to get my new scriptures this last Saturday and I love them, They are the compact Triple combination and the Bible. They work perfectly. I've been able just over the past couple of days make all the scripture mastery and other verse I like to us. Today I'm planning to get my shoulder bag, then I should be good with all that stuff!, got my camera last Monday :) Planning to mail the recepts back home this week so expect a letter in the mail! :)

Love you family!! :) tell Caitlin Ellis, love the post card from Alaska but I hope that President Gerber and Sister Gerber did not see it when they gave it to me haha.  Tell Savanah and Jordan thanks for the email and I love both of them very much and keep it up. Same to all the Kids.
  Love Elder Jenson

Oct 7, 2013

Yes, I have had a great week, Elder Carter and I have been able to pick up three new investigators which is always great!! :) One of our new investigators is a former, we both felt like we should stop bye his house so we did. He let us come in and teach him. He has been still reading his scriptures each night. The thing that is holding Alex back is from  attending church. We also have another investigator that we picked up, he lives right about us. We picked him up by knocking on his door and asking him if he knew anything or saw anyone break into the cars. Then he just asked us what we do because he see's us a lot. We told him what we do and he told us he had a couple of questions that he would like us to answer!! So we sat down with him yesterday night at Starbucks when he bought us drinks, ops (family is hoping the oops is because he bought and not because Cristian drank, but you never know: ) ) but we were able to answer he's question. We are planning to see Matthew later this week to answer another question of his that he txted us last night. The question is really good it's "sometimes in life, just to get through and defend those who we love and fight for, we have to sin, incur into doing things that are not right....It is as if we, the human race, were are own worst enemies. In times like this you do wonder, how is God going to take this? When we struggle through life there is sometimes not other way out but by throwing others under the bus, kinda thing..." This txt he sent really did make me think because it's so true. I was just thinking how it's by "small and simple thing" Alma 37:6-7 if we just do what we've been tough by parents, Bible, Book Of Mormon, Leaders. We would not have this problem but it's more then small things we have to know it, live it, act it and all the above..
Conference was amazing!! Love what Dieter F. Uchtdorf said " Doubt you doubts before you doubt you faith" then also in the Priesthood session when he spoke about about not letting you pride get in the way, and stay on the path of righteousness. Also what is grandson told him "YOU CAN DO IT"!! :) I also love the quote I believe Thomas S. Monson said "be the rock in the river that does not get pulled" something on that line. Conference was amazing! Priesthood session was great, it brought be back to the last one in Kanab when I took Derek and myself because Dad and Brandon were in Vegas I believe. How Derek and I went out after and got Ice Cream at The Junction!

LOVE You Mom, Dad and little one :)      Tell everyone in the ward thanks for all you've done for me!

Sept 30, 2013

Well this week has been a very good week until sad to say Yesterday. This week Elder Carter and I have been able to make more contact with many of the less actives down in the Detroit area which is always great. Also while we were down in Detroit we were looking for this one less active family that was in the area that we were in. We were on the bike just going down the street and we heard from an house "what ward are you from" haha we both stopped and laughed because we don't get that ever, so we told them and the kid's said "that there the Edward", the family that we were looking for. So we stayed and just talked on the porch about them and also how they want to comeback to church. Planning to see them again. :)
We have been able to work with Terrel our investigator that we've been working with for now about a month or so. He is make a big change each week in he's life and it's great to see. We are hoping that we can marry Terrell and Lerenda (less active) in couple of weeks or so. Whatever works for them. We are still working with getting Terrell and Lerenda to church. They weren't able to make it yesterday because Terrell say's he was sick. This week we are planning to get him to the all of the sessions to conference and the priesthood session also on Saturday night!! :) Can't Wait!!
Well here comes the bad news :( So I woke up on Sunday morning with a bad sickness and also a headache. Still pretty sick, with all that a text from Terrell and Lerenda saying "Terrell is sick, wont be able to make it to church". So I went out to the car to get my back pack from the car and yeah someone went through the complex and broke into cars. :( They stole my back pack, scriptures, Camera, oil, the pamphlets and couple of Book Of Mormon's. So Sunday was a really bad day for me. I really don't know what to do, either laugh or cry or don't know. I leave my back pack in the car Sunday nights because we just wake up on Sunday's and head over to Warren East apartment because we pick them up for church, also just study there. Elder Carter said he locked the car and I always ask him if he locked the car. So we don't know if we forgot just Saturday night or they broke in and we sleep through the car alarm. My back pack was out of sight, down on the ground. I'm not really a happy camper because I was so proud of my scriptures and all the marking I've done in them and not's. Really want'ed to saw you when I got home, also all the pic's since Tecumseh are gone.
I don't know what to do, because I know that I don't have the money to buy new scriptures, bag or Camera and I also I know that you don't really have the money to do that also. What Should I do?? If I do buy the stuff I would. I need to buy a side bag because that's the new thing the church came out with I guess and President Gerber is making us all get side bags by December. Need Parents HELP!!  I've been frustrated over the last day.
I really don't know what God is trying to teach me, Either don't leave my bag in the car or that I should get new scriptures and find new tools that I can us in my lessons! :/ Don't Know!
Sorry no pic's don't have my stuff :/
Well hope you guys had a better week then me.
  Love Elder Jenson
p.s- how did the Birthday go and also the race for mom???!!!

Sept. 16, 2013

This week has been going great, love Elder Carter. He is a very hard worker and positive about the area. He has been in nice area's in the pass so it's a change but he does like it. Elder Carter reminds me a lot of Derek (my brother)
We have been going down to Detroit, the last  couple day, knocking of the people that we don't really know if there still down there or not. I believe it was last Wednesday but we were down in Detroit on bike and it was a really nice day. Then out of the blue a big rain/wind storm came in and we got really wet. It was way fun because everyone was looking at us like we are crazy for being out in the storm. By the time we got back to our car on 9 Mile and Van Dyke, we were cold, had rivers in our shoe's but we had lot's of fun!! The same day we were able to teach a little lady that loves the Gospel and speaks in tongues, well that what she says. Also meet couple more other people like her and also help change a tire on a car. We are planning to go back to the couple that we helped change there tier and teach more of the Restoration. They said we could comeback!!
Other then that, not much just been working with the members over the last week and also stopping bye less actives.
We are planning this week to focus on finding and finishing the list I start with Elder Tripp, just knocking people off the ward list. On Wednesday we are going out with the bishop and high priest and Elders and doing the same thing.

Oh yeah Elder Jones is in my district, The PG in basketball from South Sevier.

Well Love you family!!! :)

Love Elder Jenson

Sept. 9, 2013

Hey family, this week has been a slow week in the Warren Area, we were able over the week to check more of the less actives off the ward list, sad to to say. There a lot of people in the ward that are less active because they are either left the area to find a job or flat out do not like the church at all.
We have over the last couple of weeks picked up a couple investigator which we have dropped all but one this last week. We are hopping this week to go over to Terrell the investigators house this week and just drop bye because when we do set up an appointment he always has to cancel. I will call him later on this week to see if everything is done with the death in the family and when we can start coming over more often.
Thanks for the email, it made me think, a lot more because I was not call to train this week. Elder Tripp is going to a new area. I'm kinda disappointing in the fact that I'm not training but after reading the email, it made me think of before the mission and how I did not know much about leadership in the mission' all I knew that I was going to teach people and bring people to baptism. That which matters more then leadership, not because I give up on being in a leadership place on the mission but as you focus on just doing what your called to do, you will hopefully be rewarded with a calling of Training, DL or whatever President Gerber and the Lord need's use to do.
Well I will let you know who my new companion is tomorrow. :)
Tell Savanah to have a HAPPY BIRTHDAY on Wednesday :)
 LOVE Elder Jenson

Sept. 2, 2013

Thanks so much, Dad and Mom your the best parents ever and remember that I have two, well really one parent if you wan't to get technical. hahah.
This week has been another good week, we've just been working with less actives and checking them off the list if you want to say that. There are many people that have moved out of Warren because the the job situation and all. So we have just lot's of people we don't even now and just going to all the less actives. The tough thing is some don't even want to be in the church and when we do find the less actives if they have not moved yet, they don't let us say really anything. I don't know really how hard it is to get you'r name of the church records, but I've seen and heard that it's pretty easy. So we have lot's of names that are less actives that either moved or don't want anything to do with the church, which is sad because the church has done a lot for me and the people in the church. We've not been able to see Terrell and his girl friend (LA the girl friend) because there was a family problem in the family. We are hoping to see him today around 5!! :) Terrell is a great man that want's to change his life also the same with his girl friend. The cool thing is that he calls us when he won't be able to make the appointment. That shows me that he does care, there are lot's of investigators that don't even call if they have something come up.
Well as you know this week is week 6 which means transfer calls. So it should be interesting if Elder Tripp is leaving or not. I think he might leave just because of his thoughts of the area and he knows it like the back of his hand. It would be great to serve with him another six weeks but I would like to get someone new out or train. Elder   Tripp has been are to long and he his not very positive about the area, which I can see why. He's thoughts are if the ward can't even keep there members in the church, why do they need more members. I can see where he is coming from because you have at most 30 family's at church every Sunday, when on the list it shows over 300 family's in the ward. But I see it as that and also we have to give the people the chance to come into the church even if the ward is trying to keep them self up in running.
Well I hope that I can be able to train this transfer but if not O'well, not to big of a thing.
To answer some of you questions, 1.Church is amazing being able to see how each ward does many things different but The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints is still the same were every you go. Troy to Warren! 2. We've been only teaching about 12 discussions each week, but we are hoping to fix that. 3. One thing I love about the mission is just being able to help people out and has they see you do care about them they trust you. So you can be able to start teaching them. 4. Um the hard thing is probably not being able to teach anyone. 5. we usually just hang out with the other missionary's in the ward and either just throw the football around or write letters. 6. Well here we don't get fed a lot just because the people don't have the money or time. :/ In Troy I had a dinner appointment every night for about a month in half which was really nice because we had $40.00 or so $$ left for the month and her we run out the 2nd to last week of the month. We split the coast when we do go get food. So that's nice and it works lot's easier.
Love you family, Yes I did get the cookies haha all mashed up but still taste really good. Tell all the kid's that I did not have much time to email them back but I will do better. That would be nice, to have the card just in case. For emergence, yes I will do better with  managing my money.
P.S wish DAN a Happy Birthday!! ( don't have his email, pleas get for me)
Also tell Caitlin Ellis (that I will email her next week, meant to write back but been busy and writing other people back that wrote first.)

August 26, 2013

Yes this week was another great week like last week. Has mom said in email, I guess life is like that one week pain in the butt but the other week the greatest week. As I would put it.
This week we have been able to find two new investigators, which is always nice. One of the new investigators that we were able to find was throw a media referral from Mormon.org. His name is Terrell, he has lived in the center of Detroit most of his life and had a rough time with somethings. But does want to make a change in his life. Terrell told us (Elder Tripp and I) that he at once was meeting with the missionary's and he could feel a change in his life and also he stopped some of the stuff he was doing. Then Terrell lost contact of the missionary's and went back to the stuff he was doing. He wants to I guess I would put it, make a new chapter in his life. He has a girl friend that  is a member but she is less active and was baptized 10 or so years ago in the Palmer Park Ward, which is in the Heart of Detroit! But she wants to comeback to church and also wants her boy friend to hear the message also that has blessed her life.
Other then that we have just been working with more less actives and  checking them of the list because most of them have moved and did not tell anyone or we find out why they less active and see what we can do to get him back to church.
Yeah Elder Tripp and I get along, We've always got along since the first day and we teach like we know what were saying with out planning, which is not great, I know we should always be ready. The funny thing is that we did 15 Inline image 1mint Distract instruction the first week of the transfer together because Elder Uptain (DL) asked us to do it.  On "My purpose" both Elder Tripp and I knew it, so it took us like a minute to think of what we would say in Distract meeting. After Distract meeting the Elders asked us if we did prepare and we said not really, they said it was one of the best they have seen. It just tells us how much he Holey Ghost plays a role!! :)
Well tell Jaxon "I'm very proud of him and I wish I could be there".

Love you Family

August 19, 2013

This week has been one of the best weeks I've had here.
We were able to find two new investigators. One was a referral that someone gave us and we have not had time to stop bye because we have not been in the area. But we were able to stop bye on exchanges with the Distract Leader ( Elder Uptain, came out with me) and we were able to teach part of the Restoration before she had friends coming over but we did get a return appointment with her for this Wednesday which is way cool.

.  The Other new investigator that we were able to pick up was actually some guy that we saw in the GPS that said he was a less active. So we did stop bye and the guy who answered and said "yes this is me but I'm not a member".  We starting to teach the Restoration and answered some of his questions, did set up a return appointment but he was not home. we will teach the Restoration or whatever he might need in he's life.  The two new investigatory were on the same day!!!
Other then that we have just been stopping by many less actives, have a couple appointments set up with less actives this week. Elder Tripp and I are really working on getting less actives back to church because we only have about 50 that come to church in the ward and the ward list at lest have 200 members in the ward. Sad right, but we will fix it!!

Spoke yesterday in church on my conversion story and what I got out of "For The Strength Of Youth". Talk for about 15 min or so.
Well this week we have the second part of training! :)
 Love You Family and Friends
Love Elder Jenson                       BTW: Random picture back in Flint, found a stray cat!! :) Named it Lucky. Inline image 1

August 12, 2013

Hey family, this week as been a very slow week and not the best week  of the mission I have had on the mission.
Warren West area seems like a place where no one really does care about the gospel and does not want to make any changes in there life. Elder Tripp and I are going to work with the investigators that we do have and really make it a point that they can have a better successful life if they will let the message change there life.
Elder Tripp and I are going to be lot's of finding, meeting with Less actives and also going to stop by many of the members in the ward council and we are planning to have missionary lesson's and just encourage them to do member missionary work and also really have them invite less active family's to church and activates.
We got a new Elder in the distract which is okay, the Elder's that we share the ward with is right next to us, so we see them a lot during the week. One of the Elders got mind knighted so Elder ------  one of my last companions is here with Elder Plant (really nice and hard worker) in the same ward as us so that's kinda hard because E. ------ is not the best and he is like a Elder ----- when I was with him and still has not made a change. So I've been trying to block off he's mean things he says.
It just reminds me off what President Holmes told us at are one year temple trip, that he hopes we do have a hard time in the mission some time during the mission because are transfer that came out has had a pretty easy going mission with everyone in the transfer that came out with me from the MTC has had more then 2 baptisms each and also President Holmes has not had any really big problems with are transfer. Haha I can kinda see where the hard part is just mentally with coming into  a dead area.
Well love you family, hope everything is going great. Keep up the hard work.
  I will do the same,
     Love Elder Jenson :)

From August 30, 2013... new address

My new address is 31355 Mound Apt. D
                                 Warren,MI 48092

August 5, 2013

That is way cool what you are doing with the videos!! :) Well this week has been a great week being able to be in a new area and also with a new companion. Elder Tripp is recently from VG but he move's around a lot because his dad working for the Military. Elder Tripp has been out four about 9 months and he is a great Elder, he knows his Bible and the Book Of Mormon off the top of his head which is really cool. Elder is a very positive Elder.
The New area is great, it's Warren West area which cover 14 mile down to 5 mile in Detroit, but we don't go down there much because we have only like 2 member's that are down there and they are less-active, just because it's really far from the church and they don't really have the money to drive that far. We went down to Detroit just the other day and it's really cool and crazy, the less active person we saw is a older lady
that loves the gospel and doing great just needs the money to come. So we are working out how we can ask someone to bring here to church.
The Warren ward is great, the people are so nice and love the gospel but the sad thing is the ward only makes up of about 50 family's that show up each week. We will be working with many less actives and try to get them back to church.
We bike almost every day which is great, love it because it's really flat area, we only get about 20 miles a day with the car so, in the morning time we bike then we use the car later in the evening time.
Other then that not much, just trying to get to know more of the area.

LOVE You Family and Friends :)

July 29, 2013

Thanks for the emails Mom and Dad, well I found out that I'm leaving the Flint area. I'm kinda sad because there are many great members and also many less actives that I got close to, but oh well I will meet more people in my new area when I find out tomorrow. Elder Hoffman is staying then Elder Burnett (going to Brazil, but still has not got his visa) and I are leaving the area. Hahaha I've still have only stayed in an area for 3 transfers which is about 4 months. I'm lucky
This week has been a pretty slow week just because many of are appointment canceled but we have been able to do many service projects.  Haha we found a stray cat by are apartment the other night, and we felt so bad so before we went in we gave him some water and food. Oh yeah biking went great, love it =) well most of the days
Other then that nothing much has been going on just saying bye to some people today and packing.
Great to here that you were able to share the gospel to one of your friends, hope she will be able to make the appointment with the sister missionary's, wish them good luck.
Here's some pics :)  Well the Download is taking forever, so I will send some pic's next week!
Love you Family!!

July 22, 2013

Great to hear that
the family is doing great and that the missionary work is going strong out
there.
This week has been a great week, on Thursday we were able to go knock
doors over in the some neighborhoods and we were able to find three new
investigators, actually one of the house's week knocked we got a great
older man named Dennis in his 60's and he said he would come to church. W e
get that a lot but when it came Sunday we saw him walk into the chapel
which was amazing because I don't know if it was like it over in Chile but here
we have people that say count me in with coming to church but when it comes
they don't show up. One of the amazing things about it is that we talk to
Dennis for about only 5min because we had appointment to get to.
It sounds like that Brandon is doing great in the MTC and he is loving
it!! :) It's great to see how much time fly's bye and also see the blessing
of that come from you and mom doing a great job raising us.
This Saturday phones call's should be interesting just because of the
new mission President and also the Assistants have a lot of say in the
transfers because it's Presidents Gerber's fist time. But it's really all
up to the Lord. If I do leave it will be hard because I've gotten close
with a Less active man that we see every week and read the Book Of Mormon
with him and also we just sit down, talk and see how is week is going.
Also just because the people over her are very humble and the ward will
help out in any way they can

July 15, 2013

Hey family, this last week has been a great week. Just the other day I finished Jesus The Christ. It's amazing book and I love it.
I've not been in my area for a couple of days because I first went on exchanges with the distract leader then I went with the other Elder in the flint area because one of the Elder is in the hospital because he is really sick. So I've been with Elder Smith yesterday and it sounds like the next couple of days I will be with Elder Smith in his area.
I'm almost done with the Book of Mormon for the 3rd time on the mission if you count fishing it in the MTC.
Getting along with my companions great, haha This week I told both of them to talk to each other, they were able talk about what bugs them, and know they are working along. Which is great because there is less contention in the lesson's.
I have a feeling that the next 2 weeks will be a great week for both of them.
We had interviews the other day and they went great, President Gerber did not have much to say, just keep on doing the great work.
Hope everything goes great this week love you family.
        Love Elder Jenson

This was the first letter from Detroit sent on July 24, 2012:

Well yesterday I came in to Detroit around 12 then meet the mission President Holms, we had a great interview just talking about how I was doing and other stuff. Also had to watch a video on driving and sign other papers and all. Can you mail me my medical card?? I need it just in case if I need to go to the hospital or anything like that. Last night was the best night ever. The missionaries took us out on splits in the ghettos . I committed someone to be baptized by September 29th on the the front porch. After that we started to get into the car, then I said to Elder Nelson and Elder Read. "I think we should go talk to thous to people sitting on the front parch". So we did and she said, "it was great that you came and talked to me, I was going to come talk to you guys but did not know how" She told us she prayed to have us come over, watching us across the street. She said she wanted to know what we thought of having a baby dye in the whom (don't know how to spell the word). But she said that she wont get one because of what we told her and also I got appointments to the missionaries for Thursday to talk to her and the family. :) So ya I got a baptism and saved a baby on the first day :) President Holms shared the store today in transfer meeting. My  new companion is Elder Bone and he is great and nice Elder from Utah and been out for 7months about.  My address for the new apartment is   2808 Charter Blvd #102 Troy, MI 48083

Also the people are so nice and willing to listen! Well so far that I have seen. The Funny thing is everyone who drives a car here has their music blasted up loud (rap) hahaha

well g2g love you family :)

July 9, 2013

That's is great to hear, it's crazy to think that Brandon is entering into the MTC on Wednesday.
This last week was a pretty positive week for us, we might not have many investigators that we are working with but we are able to work with many of the less active that we have in the ward. The only investigator that we are working with is Mike. also trying to teach the girl friend also,
We are getting a new ward mission leader, we are meeting with the new one (Cedric S) tomorrow it should be way fun. Cedric his a great guy that has been in the church for about 10 or so years.
This week we have interviews with President Garber, it should be fun.
What else not really new just still going out and find new people we can teach, we've been able of the last couple of weeks to do many service projects because of the tornado that we had about a month ago or so.
Well tell Brandon that he will love the MTC and the spirt inside of it. Tell him that the mission is the most rewarding and kinda tough thing to do haha but he will love it.
So are you going to give Brandon you tag, because it's Spanish and it should be the same name, haha?? I've heard that other missionary have done that just wondering if you are.
Well got to go, tell the family that I love them all. It's crazy to think that I wont be here next August, I was not even thinking that.
  Love Elder Jenson

July 1, 2013

This week has been going very wheel for us, just been doing a lot of contacting and also tracing because we don't have very many investigators just really one that is progressing, which is always the best. Tonight we have an appointment with Mike B, an investigator that we have been working with and he is doing great, just trying to get him to get married to his girl-friend, so that we can baptize him and also the family. Mike is an awesome person that is really funny.
Can you send me a copy of Brandon's talk  also his email for he's LDSmail?? Yesterday we had a missionary sacrament meeting and the ward missionary spoke then the 7 missionary's that we have in the ward all gave a 3 min testimony, I was able to give my little reason way I came out, I was able to bear my testimony on the plan of salvation and also how I will always be with my family because of the church. I also was thinking about Brandon giving his talk to so that was really cool that I was able to give a little talk while Brandon was giving his farewell talk.
The new mission President flied in on Thursday and President fly back home on Friday. It will be very interesting and cool to have a new mission President. President Gerber will be great, will just take some time to get used to him, he is a joker kinda like Brother Hansen. But who knows maybe President Gerber was just nerves when he was telling him about himself, but it will be good.
Yeah Sister Decker is amazing Sister she came out with me from the MTC, she reminds me of our cousin Caitlin haha her dad also was a seminary teacher and know teaches institute.
Well hope everything is going great in the family, Loving the mission and it's crazy that Brandon is only down to about a week of going into the MTC.
      Love Elder Cristian Jenson
P.S- the site to the blogspot does not work..

OH yeah also have been reading Jesus The Christ, it is so amazing and confusing at the same time. Dad have you every read it????

June 24, 2013

Hey dad good to hear that everything is going great, wish Brandon good luck on his talk in sacrament meeting and also tell him great job with his Eagle Scout. Whats Brandon's New Email, it should be in his call letter. OH yeah also whats Brandon W email or mailing address??
The work out here is amazing its doing great, has I said that we got a new Elder in our Companionship and it's great. His name is Elder Burnett and he's a visa waiter, heading the Brazil on his mission. He is from New Mexico. We've been able to go out tracing a lot more and we have found a couple new investigators, other then that nothing much is going on just teaching a couple of people and tracing a lot. The most crazy days are always on Thursdays because we have usually the same people with other new investigators in the mix of it all then we play basketball on Thursday nights with couple of members and one of our investigators. His name is Mike and he is really cool. He's about 6'something and playing to play basketball over sea's he just needs to find a place where they are doing tryouts.
President Holmes leaves this Wednesday which will not be really fun but it will be cool the have our new mission President Gerber. He sounds like a good guy, according to Elder Uptain ( In MTC distract with me)  because his sister had him in high school.
It's crazy how time fly's by, yesterday when they had the wide world meeting about missionary work it reminded me of when I was in the MTC and how much fun we had in our distract and also how much I learned from companion.  Speaking about my companion in the MTC, he is know in the Office because he was transferred there. The office has been a new area only since like 4 months or so. But it's funny because Elder Cormiar is a hard working Elder that loves to be out in the filed knocking doors and just doing missionary work, know he is in the office for this transfer.
Well there is nothing really else to say but I do love the mission and love you family.
Tell Dan Christensen and the family thinks for the letter and also wish good luck to my 1 yr younger cuz Shelby for me haha. :)

Love you family!! Have a great week with missionary work and just plain fun.

Love Elder Cristian Jenson

March 4, 2013

Yeah he did!! :) I've been doing great, we have a really promising investigatory, His name is Randall, he is 20's half white and black. He has been to church 2 time already. We have been trying to put him on date for the 22nd of March but he really want's to know if this church is try, which I don't blame him. This week we had a Zone Conference this week and it went great. The focus was on "How to begin teaching" in PMG ( understanding, and listening)  which was great, President Holmes really focused on just really getting to know the person and not killing them with the gospel. So Elder Kotter and I have been working on that a lot. President said I do a really good job with relating the gospel in there life and listening.  I've been trying to help him with "teaching people not lessons" PMG. Elder Kotter is a great missionary and loves to do the work, he is still really excited to share the gospel and he share it all at one time.
The sad thing is Elder Cormiar and I have only a couple more weeks then transfers, which we know one of us will be leaving. We have been able to strength each other throw talking because are companions don't understand some of the small things ,also I've been able to talk to president couple times. :) Just like little things.
The new mission rule for every missionary is now we can email anyone out of are mission!! :)

It has been doing great!! Just put someone on date yesterday!! :) um I'm going on exchanges with my Best friend ever Elder Comier on Friday!! Lost my driving privilege for 3 months oh well, going to just laugh about it and learn my lesson on how to drive in snow. This week was kinda hard got little home sick because just flustering when I've never been rechecked in my life and I cant even explain to the people why I'm so lucky to have the gospel in my life. It seems like has soon has you say or they read your name tag they shout you off.  I love Savannah quotes it really gets me to love the week and move on from people that make dumb comments or my vocie. :)
   Transfer calls this week. :(
Well love you fam!! Elder Jenson

Thanks for the letter is was good to hear, on whats going on with the family.  Nope I did pick out the Mormon message, it's a good one. Why do you think that Pres would give me that haha I'm somewhat of smart person.
So has Brandon been getting ready for his mission, like all the stuff he needs and all? How have the kids been doing?
This week has been a great week, we have been able to filter out many investigators that we have but they are not really progressing they just like us to come over and have scripture time with them, this next week we are going to work on finding and also just asking for more referrals. Today we are seeing the same family  that we saw last Monday, hope nothing goes wrong, which it should not because he is in the hospital for a couple months or so, sad to say.
This last week has been a little hard, been kinda homesick (family, and friends in other wards) but, O' well will be able to talk to you guys in a couple of weeks, thank goodness haha. :)

Can you get me Cassie's email, Bro Stancliff and who ever else.

Love you favorite adopted son Elder Cristian Jenson :P

Hey sorry, Idk what with the emails, I'm sending them but it's seems like you are not getting any of them. The last week email was.................Dang sorry just erased my big letter I had for you, But this week has been a great week. We will have two baptisms this next Sunday. One is an investigatory who've we been working with for a good couple months or so and the other is a LA son (9 yr) that has gone through all the lessons in the last year or so but just needs to be baptized.  The LA mom is starting to comeback to church which is great, she just showed up a couple of weeks to church and said hey my son wants to get baptized but I did not want to do it with the last couple of missionary's. The little kid asked me t baptize him which will be really cool. Elder Hoffman will baptize the other investigatory, and I will confirm her. It will be same with Chantealle Elder Hoffman baptize her and I will confirm her.
This week will be a great week because the baptisms on Sunday also on Thursday, it will be sad but cool because it's President Holmes and Sister Holmes last fireside the cool thing is Pres Holmes got the #1 Draft pick for the Detroit Lions, Ezekiel Ansah come and speak to us about he's conversion story!!!
Well love you family, home I get a email next week!!!
Thanks for being so great parents and siblings   ................,,,,,, That Was last weeks email.   BTW what email do you look at, because I have like three email accounts that I can send it to you....................which one do you check the most????

But this week Elder Hoffman and I had a amazing week!! :) We had to baptism this last Sunday and i baptized Robert the 9yr old, I had to do it twice because the first time he did not go under the water all the way hahaha..........but it was so amazing for the fist time ever baptizing someone and it happened out on the mission. Most missionary have at least done baptisms for the dead baptizing someone or there little sibling.
Anyways, Got to get an autograph by Ezekiel Ansah and a picture with him, he has a really cool story has you know!! The really cool thing is that one of the missionary's out here that just went home last week knew Ansah from BYU. The kid that served out here was from Africa and they meet each other at BYU on the Track field and because they did not know any other kids from the same town in Africa Ansah and Elder Bwahim become best friends then Ezekiel Ansah encouraged Elder Bwahim to go on a mission, so he did. The funny thing is they meet back up in Detroit when Elder Bwahim found out that Ezekiel got drafted to the Lions. So Elder Bwahim and Ezekiel spoke to us.
We've been able to do a lot of service projects, built a new deck/ ramp out to the pound  for a members friend next door neighbor. Hope to be able to teach the family!! The cool thing is it's in a neighborhood just like ours with nice houses and all :))
Well hope you go this message hahah love you family

June 10, 2013

Wow, it is I just notice that today is the 10th of June. This Thursday is our 1yr temple trip with President Holmes and Sister Holmes, which should be fun. :)
This week has been a pretty good week, yesterday was Robert's confirmation. We had his home teacher do it (Bro. Green). Brother Green has been in the church for I think about a little less then two years. So it was fun to be able to see him give the blessing. Also we had many referrals that we had to contact and we have been able to get to new investigators out the referrals.
On Friday is transfer calls and I have a feeling that both of us will be staying but who knows.
Nothing else is really new just the same good missionary work.
Hope you have a great farther's day this Sunday, Happy Farther's day!! :)

Love Elder Jenson

May 5, 2013

Hey, family I'm doing great, sadly to say we did not have a baptism this last week because it was a busy time for the family and we also did have stake conference yesterday, It went great very interesting because went was a prod cast from SLC.  Well I'm getting a new companion tomorrow, staying in Flint :) starting to love it. It's still kills me how people live down here and how many people die in just a week, it seems like 1 or 2 people die in a week just on a street that we have members living on or investigatory's.
That is great to hear that the missionary work is working out down in Kanab, it was pretty bad when the Elder's were there, there was only 2 Elders there that were really good Elder's.
I will call around 3 or 4 are time it would make it 1 or 2 you'r time back in Utah I believe.
Alright I will work on the sending pictures, have you gotten my Credit card yet hope so or you that's no go.

Well talk to you on Sunday, cant wait love you family

Pretty Cool Day!

Dear President Holmes

Hey President Holmes, This week has been one of the best weeks for me in the mission. I have been able to learn a lot over this week about what I can change to be a better missionary.

On Thursday and Saturday, was a really great experience for me with going to the Temple with my group and also just being able to be at the meeting on Saturday with Elder D. Todd Christofferson .

It really hit me on Thursday that I can change things that are keeping me from progressing in my mission. I've always have had an Ipod on my mission with only church music, this last week I traded Elder Hoffman for his Ipod touch that he has because he did not want it anymore and he knew that he was braking the rules. So I gave him mine, putt church music on my new one and Mormon messages. I was not thinking of it being bad at all because I was only having church music on it and the messages. Then when I went on went with Elder Wilson and Cormaer I used it to just listen to church music on the way to the mission home. Elder Wilson and Cormaer told me that I was not suppose to have it because it can get wifi on it. I told them I knew that and I was only using it for church music and Mormon messages.

Then with giving up the weapons of war was great because I was able to just putt the music and Ipod in the box because I knew that that has been a little distracting for me when every we just jumped in the car. So I was able to putt it in my suit case and told my self and wrote a letter that went with the Ipod touch that said I wont every take it out on the mission again. Has soon as I did that I could feel a change.

I'm really happy that we will be able to have a companion to are companionship already.

Thanks for Everything President and Sister Holmes

Elder Jenson

As I said in my letter to President Holmes that has been most of the week. :)

This week has been a great week of another learning experience for me. Elder Hoffman got a touch the other Monday and putt music on it then he said he did not want it anymore because he's feeling on having it, so I told him we would trade so I did. Then putt music on it. Then what I explained to President Holmes.

That was just he learning experience for me but to go on with rest of the week, we were able to pick up couple new investigators and have many lessons, which is always great.

The temple was amazing learnd a lot from asking President Holmes in the temple which was way cool. On Thursday it kinda made me a little sad but did not cry, it reminded me that about a year ago I went with you and dad.

Well I'm staying in North Flint w/ Elder Hoffman but we will be getting another Elder with us because the mission is growing a lot and we don't have much room in the Michigan Detroit Mission. We have 30new missionary's coming in on Tuesday but most of them are waiting to head out of the country.

One thing I've been able to learn a lot on the mission so far but the biggest is obedience, with just the small things that I have ran into. Like with the watch and going to places only on P-day then with the ipod. Another is just being able to be understanding with all your companions. Also how much you do have to rely on God because I knew at home as I was able to explain to President and Sister Holmes on Tuesday that I did read the scriptures when I wanted to and also prayed when I needed it but other then that I had everything I needed family, friends, golf and money, But being able to be out here on the mission and see that you don't have any of that only family on Monday through email and in you heart, you don't have anyone to talk to if you have a problem in the companionship. But I've been able to pray much more the I did at home and also relate thing to the scripture instead of T.V., Internet or whatever is in the world. If you know what I mean.

I was able to see Elder Todd D. Christofferson, the preceding Bishop, Elder Mayne and other quorum of the 70's

Love you family, I will keep Savanah and Derek in my prayers :) hope they get feeling better.

Is Brandon going to the Provo or Mexico MTC? Just wondering because I've heard that the Provo MTC does not have any more room for Spanish speaking so they are all sending them to the Mexico MTC.

Did Dad every get my farthers day card???

Love you Family!! :) Elder Jenson
